Got a brand new ofna lx2 and spent a day breaking it in.
The very next day i wanted to tune it and have fun with it.
The first thing i did was swap out the AA batteries with new ones.
I know that the AA pack that it comes with is not ideal.
Anyways i started the buggy and made a few passes and
Befor i got to tune it it took off on me at full speed and hit a wall
Of a building leaving nothing but parts all over the lot i was in.
I checked for power to see if i lost power but it had power.
Total time running was about 8 minutes and i know that it should last more then that.
I bought the car on monday and Tuesday i was back at the shop and i told the guys there what happened. They said to leave it with them and they will find out what went wrong.
3Weeks later they called and said that the receiver has a problem and that they will send it in to the company (ofna) and they should take care of it.
Its been 6 weeks and i get a call from lhs saying that they didnt find anything wrong with the receiver or servos and that they will not cover anything.

I will never buy from ofna again!

Has anyone had issue with ofna? I'm talking having issues from brand new.....

What radio are you using? do you have a fail safe or a throttle return spring? ANY brand can have a run away, you can't blame that on Ofna. Also, you should replace the AAs with a 5 cell rechargeable battery pack. I have had an Ofna Hyper 7 PCR Pro for years, and I have never had a problem with it, it's a tough buggy.

Really sorry to hear that happened, really sucks. You should install a fail safe before ever flipping that on switch for the first time. This happened to my stampede last year when I decided to run it before buying another one, sure enough the one time I do this is runs off wide open into a fence. First and last time I take that chance.

Low batteries, bad connection, moisture, faulty equipment, too many things can cause it.

Came with the hong nor radio and receiver. And the fail safe was active.
I've ran my jato 3.3 with the stock battery pack and never had this issue.
I mean i guess if the car was a few months old i would understand but it was one day old and i took it out of a new sealed box. My lhs is well known and they tested this receiver and it showed to be a defect.
I'm wondering if the ofna company is lying to me.......
I was just getting out of the break in faze and didnt have a chance to put a spring nor put a spectrum receiver in it.
Man this make me very upset. With 4 kids and one on the way i only have a small window of opportunity to buy an rc. And when i do BAM! Next day its gone. :(

I never heard of hong nor myself so I'm assuming they are very cheap considering I can't find their products on amain and a few other sites. I'm sure OFNA wouldnt lie about a bad receiver especially one like that. Usually RTRs come with cheap radios and receivers meaning the receiver probably cost around $15-$20 which wouldnt be a problem for OFNA to replace and give them no reason to lie about. OFNA is one of the top brands in RCs and their quality is very well known. They arent the #1 top brand anymore but they are still up there and will more than likely get their turn again some day. It could very well be your transmitter as well. Also could be caused by someone else running the same frequency as you or some type of interference interuption from the receiver and the transmitter. Many things that transmit frequencies such as antennas can interfere and cause your RC electronics to go haywire. Using a radio such as Spektrum, KO Propo, and most Airtronics will remove that issue for good. They are very expensive but very well worth the money. Maybe your LHS carries used ones?

Did you enable the fail safe when you programmed it? I don't know about that brand either, maybe by default its not enabled? Maybe purchase an external fail safe which plugs into the receiver, I use them on top of my built in one just in case, they are cheap anyhow. Hooks up in seconds...

First of all, sorry to hear about your crash and the subsequent loss. We've all been there, myself included, even the no failsafe deal you just went through. I smashed a touring car head on into a concrete curb at about 55mph once. All my rigs had standalone failsafes the next week. :D

Did you test the failsafe before driving the car? RTR simply means someone assembled to loose guidelines and threw it in a box for shipping, that's it. I've had RTR's with loose screws and bolts, radios that weren't bound to the RX, all sorts of stuff. It's on us to ensure our rigs are setup properly and good to go, not the LHS or the company.

Yes i looked the car over and checked all the screws I've seen rc come in with alot of lose stuff.
And the fail safe dose not come enable. I had to set it up.
I've never had any issue with traxxas radios or receivers.

Heres the link to what i got. http://www.ofna.com/ultralx2.php

Well ofna isn't traxxas. Traxxas isn't ofna. Don't blame the brand. Like everyone said it could happen to any brand. Just a lesson learned the hard way. Sorry bud.

Haha got an estimate on parts and it came out to $280
I paid $309 plus tax for the darn buggy.
Its looking more of a 100% upgrade build for the next year.
All that is really left that i can use is the motor and maybe the rear diff.

I bought a used firestorm as my first rc. Payed 100 bucks for it and drove it b4 i bought it. one week later and about a half a gallon of fuel later i was running the car at my parents house on bundic lake. Well i watched the car run full speed about a 100 yards then sail off into the lake luckily i was able to find the car in the water after about 30 mins of searching. I turned the batteries off and blew what water i could off with the air compressor. replaced servos and receiver went threw the motor completely that day so it didnt have time to rust. and had her back going i was lucky nothing was damaged but man did it suck watching that thing sail off the bank into the water with me able to do nothing

Nope they claim everything with the radio/rreceiver/ servos works 100%
Thats why i say they are lying to me because my lhs tested it all and found a glitch.
My lhs even told them that they are lying. And thats why i say ofna is a p.o.s lol.

Lucky you it was water i wich mine whent in water. :(

Also my lhs was telling me that they have had the same problem with other ofnas with same radio.

Yeah my lx2 done me the same way know exactly how you feel, after switching out the hong nor tx rx for spectrum, a return spring and a adding fuel line to my trottle and brake levers I actually seen its a pretty tough rig. Oh forgort the force 28 blew on the 3 tank or so but my lhs contacted ofna and they replaced it, took bout 3 monthes. I slapped an xtm .28 on mine and replaced all that stuff mentioned above and its took a serious beating since then trust me I'm a newbie so I do sone dumb sh.. daily wit my rigs and it actually handles my torture better than anything else accept the savages.Hang in there bruh

Hello again buggybuster! I was going to go with futaba but I'm doing spectrum dx3c

I got the dx2s and when I tried running the telemetry on my savage it glitched like crap sent rx back to horizon which I must say has great customer service 3 times and kept having same problem so I dont even bother wit the telemetry anymore maybe dx3s is better. Just to let you know went out and jump mine a little after my last post bout an hour ago, it didnt go good at all from what I see right now front shock tower and a arms are just the beginning, lol

Yrah my jato has all that crap to but I'm not a racer so i really dont need it lol.
Plus i sold my iPhone went back to android.
You know I've been really. Beating up my jato and it still runs like new!
The stampede is holding up real good too. Except when first bought it met the curbs 100 times befor the chassis broke. I think for what i use the rcs for and my budget i should stick with traxxas. Lol

I have owned a couple of OFNAs and still own an OFNA 9.5MBX. OFNA makes good kits. You need to buy the parts yourself and rebuild it yourself. Much cheaper. Get your parts from Nitrohouse.com and knock out the over priced repairman and you can probably get it running again for 1/3 of that price. I've wrecked my Rustler at speeds in excess of 90+ MPH and can usually get it back up and running for $40-$100 bucks depending on how bad the wreck is.
