Son and I took kraton bashing today. Cleaned it afterwards and rinsed entire truck down with low pressure garden hose. Few hours after, while driving full throttle it lost all braking and would only steer. Pretty scary when it's coming 60 mph straight towards u 😳. Brakes work fine otherwise at different speeds, even a quick full throttle burst and it was fine. Only if I was wot for more than a few seconds, no brakes and they would finally kick in when truck came to rolling stop in grass. Any ideas? Obviously got water in electronics somewhere and she didn't like it

If water damaged/ ruined something. Would receiver or esc be main culprit? Motor is relatively new. It's like it lost throttle input signal momentarily but steering still worked like normal

When my recievers got wet my steering got all twitchy
Like I could lift front end in air and set down controller and wheels would shift back and forth twitchy style
One of the smarter guys will be along shortly to nail this issue down for you
But my stuffs all waterproofed now I coat em liberally in plastidip
Bu yeah it totally sounds like your reciever got wet
Do you have another on hand you can swap to? If problem keeps happening it's not reciever
I bet that's what it is tho like you said

Thanks, will wait on the experts. Thinking about buying a new radio/ receiver set anyways. Bought truck used and every so often just running up the driveway, it seems to lose signal, never like this though. I'm just surprised a failsafe didn't kick it to stop it when it lost throttle response full speed. First thought is it's my receiver

What ESC, receiver & motor are in it?

Try conformal coating if you see alot of water.
MG Conformal Coating
Amain Conformal Coating

If the issue is water your receiver is the only non-waterproof part on your truck. First you have to dry it out. Store your truck indoors with the receiver cover off overnight, that should do it. Next you should check the foam strip the wires pass through and make sure it's in place.

Believe it's a sr315 receiver, blx185 esc, and motor pictured that I installed a month ago

Thanks, will try this ASAP

Just removed receiver cover, model srx200. Receiver box had just the slightest amount of moisture in the bottom, no visible water on any connectors though. Still think I might upgrade to new spectrum radio/ transmitter- think it's quite old anyway

Thanks for the help. All good now. Let it sit over night with receiver box lid removed. Ran it today and not a single issue. Think my cleanup routine isn't necessarily rinsing truck down with water, but my drying process. I blow it off using my 8hp master blaster that I use for drying vehicles. It's a very strong blower and probably forced water into the electronics. Oh well, just glad it ran without a single issue today

Glad you got it figured out but just a word of caution. When RC electronics say "Waterproof" they generally mean it's ok to splash them with water. Submerging or hosing them off could pose problems eventually.

Thanks GW, I was going to mention that.
I use nothing but air and a few small paint brushes to clean everything.
I never run in water anyway. Even just a little puddle or wet grass, I stay away.
I've never had wet RC electronics however non RC electronics I have and I
put them in a bowl of dried rice. Rice will draw the moisture out.
