Its been shared with me recently that my opinions on certain matters should be "kept to myself" and that Traxxas bashing is bad blah blah blah...
So no opinions here.
THIS IS MY EXPERIENCE WITH TRAXXAS. IT IS POSTED TO INFORM.
I DON'T THINK THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED, NO ONE ELSE'S STORY HERE... THIS HAPPENED TO ME.

Some many years ago, after a long break from R/C, I had met a couple ppl in the same boat. Talking convinced me to head down to my local hobby shop and buy a Traxxas Revo.
I was familiar enough with cox engines and electric r/c but nitro was new territory at this point.
The guy at the hobby shop had no problems, almost as if he'd sold a nitro to a noob before!!! This equated to a similar experience for me! No problems!
I had batteries charging and dvd's playing before my keys even hit the floor when I got home! I had that thing charged and fueled and fired and I broke it in BY THE BOOK!!!
It was a great experience!
I learned all about tuning and temps and what plugs are and are not supposed to look like!
I clipped a stump and ripped the suspension off the front one day so back to the hobby shop!
I bought a-arms and cv's and 4 other things that I can't remember I'm sure... BUT I SURE REMEMBER SEEING 70+MPH ON THE JATO BOX!!!
Holy OMG!!! 70?!?!
It looked so cool and went so fast... my buddy already had one and he said 70 mph was prob close...
It was about a month later that I bought the Jato from the same hobby shop and had the same experience!
Break in perfect, car screams!
All was wonderful until I'd ripped up the boots on my CV's (something broke too, can't recall but needed parts too)

Then this.

This is my local hobby shop link.
Please do not comment on this post until you have opened it. Its important to the point here.

Soooooo... Now I need parts and let me tell you kids, NO internet for me at this point.
I am STILL not a fan of paying for a product on line and waiting for it to get to me, HOPING its what I ordered!
So off to PepBoys, my next Traxxas local "dealer"
I don't know if any of you have had the misfortune of that experience so I'll express my thoughts about it here...
Pepboys is overpriced IMO
The in-store is way higher price, online is cheaper... Its a scam store IMO.
The walls were filled with overpriced chrome that was rusting on the shelves.
In the way back tiny corner behind a mountain of tires and speedi dry...
Traxxas parts!
So I make my way to the counter where I stand for 5 mins and then Mr Counterperson asks to help me.
I didn't even get the whole word "Traxxas" out of my mouth and the guys eyes were rolling, hands in the air and starts bitching about why HE shiuld be expected to learn about R/C cars and his job description and I think he was still ranting about something else when the door closed behind me... still no parts.

A friend had a few pieces that got me going...

I'm not posting this to sh*t on anyone. Its not about swaying or comvincing or anything else OTHER than sharing MY experience and HELPING OTHERS to make an INFORMED CHOICE OF THEIR OWN BASED ON FACTS.

My LHS had nitro Associated and a few other brands.
If I was told that I could buy the best r/c made at the time and all I had to do was close up my LHS to do it, I would have passed.
The brand that introduced me to modern nitro closed down he guy that sold me that brand.

OUR MONEY IS THE ONLY THING THAT COMPANIES LISTEN TO!!! BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY AND WHO YOU SAY IT TO!!!

I'm through with Traxxas! Thanks for the push!

You do you!

As far as the rest... opinions...
opinions are what forums are ALL about!
The "smiley faces" are there for OPINION.
Perhaps YOU should consider which websites you search if you're not looking for opinion.
Your attack was sh*tty and unappreciated.
If you want to live in pretend world, stick your head back in the sand I guess.

If its me who's misunderstanding, please do tell...

What I got of our exchange 2 days ago is that I should shut my mouth so I don't tell the truth to unsuspecting Traxxas customers before they've made a purchase and are necks deep in a company who could care less about customers but LOVES profit by lawsuit.

You're worried about scaring kids away by telling them that a company sucks? Fair enough.
What do you think they will feel like when they find out they got screwed, just like you did, and you didn't bother to warn them???

I don't want to fight. I'm through with Traxxas so I you want to blow this up, we can do that too. I want to let this lie.

I took a day to make sure I wasn't just butthurt... the fact that you told me to shut up so the true about Traxxas should lie unspoken is terrifying!
If this forum is about censorship, I'll be exiting NOW thanks!

pretty consistent for what i see from traxxas as a brand. sucks for you but helpful for me as i value your opinion and experiences
dont censor youself or this forum then I'm gonna end up making dumb purchases i regret instead of just dumb purchases I'm happy with!!!!!

No offense, but I feel you are way over reacting. If an administrator PMed you, and threatened to censor you, then I would understand you're desire to leave. However, your disagreement was with a regular member. You stated your opinions, he stated his. I don't recall anyone else jumping in to gang up on you. Personally, I didn't think it even got very heated.
I don't care for some members here, so I just ignore them.
I enjoy your posts and humor. I hope you reconsider and stay.

If it was me, my apologies. It sure wasn't directed to anybody.
I just figured this forum welcomes all RC fans including Traxxas fans.
I won't mention it again.

@CertifiedMike Well posted opinions are never a problem. Blatant company bashing just to jump on the bandwagon is a problem. (not the case here) No company is perfect, just as no forum member is perfect. I feel like your post was well put, but please don't feel like we are attacking you.
