makes me sad to see the most innovative name in monster trucks on the least innovative name in RC.

i also just noticed the inner wheel bead is bigger than the outer. I'm going to go cry now.

Id say Traxxas used to be very innovative at one point! They have just declined and declined because they're not creating anything new, they're just exhausting old ideas and it's not working out too great. I mean yes the BL-2S system was a good idea, the ultimate models are a good idea on paper, shrinking every large model to a weird scale that's somehow 1/10, lots of stuff going on, but it's not connected to one central idea. The ultimate models kind of defeat the purpose of building a car. Part of it is breaking stuff and finding something new that makes the car better than before. That's part of the experience. Making one already loaded with metal parts and upgrades takes away the process of building, it just skips you to the end result. They need something completely new, and if they keep this up they will go out of business. Kinda ironic I keep saying this, because you guys know I love my slash and trx-4, but I can't remember the last time I bought a part directly from traxxas. Ill either make something or find an amazon brand.

depends on if you buy rereleases or original cars. buy new or buy used. its in the 4 to 7 range. maybe 8 or 9 if you're thrifty/find a really good deal and maybe already have some stuff to throw at them (servo's, receivers, bearings, tires, etc.)

Just looked at the store page for this new release of the X-Maxx it's so cool especially coming from me an X-Maxx driver\fan. But i'd still get an Ultimate and that's still my plan moving forward i can always buy the Ford or Chevy body later on down the road if i want. Although i almost don't understand why they'll sell the base truck without a body i mean if it weren't for Ultimate and i wanted a new X-Maxx i'd be perfectly happy buying one with just the Chevy GMT400 truck body for $1,200 - 1,300.

I think its BS that it doesn't come with a body. Why can't they just make it with options, like color schemes, so you just order the one you want, including the color scheme? Like literally every other truck on the market? Why does Traxxas have to make it so difficult?

Maybe they just dont like you.

They did make it easy for current XMaxx owners to get the new bodies...

I was thinking it was weird at first that the bodies were sold separately.
After thinking about it, it was pretty smart business really.
I can see how it would substantially lower inventory cost significantly for both the manufacturer and the hobby shops.

Ie. a hobby shop could stock 2 of the MT X-MAXX chassis and 1 or 2 of every body for a fraction of the inventory cost of stocking 1 or 2 of every complete $1300 RC. Truck that’s offered it.

I am curios if the bodies fit all generations of X-maxx.

I already looked up the Wheels and tire for this new MT X-maxx.
I believe they have them priced a little over $100 a pair for the ones with white wheels.

This sure makes it much easier to get the monster truck looks, out of an X-maxx.
Those Chevron tires really look sharp on their.

I really like the chrome version too.
But for some reason the chrome versions are priced quite a bit higher.

I ordered mine through Nankin , no tax, free shipping, plus ordering the X-maxx MT separately will generate quite a few rebate points to use for paying for part of the cost of the body, when they get the bodies up on the website, for now all that is listed is the ability to pre-order the chassis.

I am planning to go with this Red and Black Ford body and I will likely add these lighted whips too.

I may pickup a set of the Chrome wheels and tires when they come available for one of my older X-Maxx Snap-on body trucks as well.

I do love a classic looking monster truck.
