New Traxxas 1/10 brushless Lineup actually looks refreshing if I'm being honest.

No 272r transmission, at least they didn't roll back to the 5x8mm bushings in the transmission on the 2wd trucks. Possible bellcranks on the stampede and the 4x4 bellcranks on the 2wd rustler are nice but they are keeping the worst part, the old transmission and diff.

@Suburban_Hooligan .. I totally get what your saying, but in all honesty if they're bashers they never stay straight or in one piece for long, so for me one piece bendy links are ideal, lost count of the amount of adjustable rod ends and links I've broken over the years.!!
Bendy links for the win..!! 😂 😂
what the hell are you doing to your trucks? in almost 30 years iv only ever bent/broken maybe 5 links (i can remember 3 for sure), maybe 5 ball studs, and maybe a dozen rod ends/ball cups (to be fair, the original studs and cups on my XXXT were junk).
used to huck my stuff off the roof onto concreate. nailed curbs, trees, fences, poles, walls, friends, car tires, rocks. what the hell?

It would be nice to have a metal plate finally, I never did like the integrated plastic motor mount on the stock 2wd Traxxas models.

On the last vxl set tgey included them with the 272r. The brushed one stayed basic 272.

i still wouldn't piss on any of them to put out a fire. all i see is over priced entry level RTRs with less adjustability than they should have. like always, there are no doubt better and cheaper options.
unless of course you're just buying for the brand name. just to bad the brand name doesn't carry weight. no one thinks your cool if you have a traxxas, they think you're a noob.
entry to mid range level product with a premium price tag. :yuck:
Fortunately I don't care if someone thinks I'm cool or not.

for entry level cars based at noobs and/or kids, yeah they're fine.
but for something that's trying to be marketed as mid grade or higher (like the trucks were talking about in this thread), nope. junk. not acceptable. especially for as much as they cost.
this is one reason i hate traxxas so much. they have entry level cars, they even have some mid grade stuff. but even the mid grade stuff is equipped like the entry level stuff. but they have a premium price tag. (for perspective, the Arrma Senton 4x4 and SC10 Pro4 both come with adjustable links and are roughly $50+ cheaper than the slash 4x4)
Yeah but imo owning a bunch of both. While traxxas cost more up front they seem to go alot longer without needing repairs than my arrmas do. So arrmas cheaper and gives you more but i spend more on basic repairs so over time that will cost me more than my traxxas. Horse a peice. Love most of arrmas bodies/paint but the new traxxas lookgreat.

I’ve found new takeoffs from fleabay for $70ish. Which is like building a standard 272. Our T-2wd line up definitely is pushed through their limits and keep going…

Totally agree with the above..!!

Lets be honest here. people aren't bashing at the box advertised MPH or faster cause they swapped the electrics. most people don't have the space or terrain needed to hit those speeds. realistically no matter the scale, 2wd or 4x4, nitro or electric, brushless or brushed, we are all bashing between 10 and 40mph. (excluding crawlers of course). there are so many variables that the obsession/perceived clout regarding top speed has always seemed juvenile to me. (excluding legit land speed records)

haven't spent enough time with an Arrma to know. never owned one and currently don't know anyone who does. what i do know is how well traxxas' has performed, held up and required aftermarket parts compared to everything else iv gotten my hands on over the years.

My personal favourite is people on certain forums who claim their off road trucks are geared for 70'ish mph, I mean really, where the hell are you going to use an off road car at that speed..!! And more to the point why..!! 😂🤪

Everything I own is genuinely geared to around 50mph for the terrain it runs on, (do have a couple of exceptions though 😎 )

memory unlocked. back in 2000/2001 i watched a kid melt an endbell doing that. RC10T3 RTR with a 12 turn speed gems motor. we had been running a school playground (all blacktop) then a few days later ran a soccer field in the park (short dry hard packed grass with a lot dirt). so some of us geared up a bit. he had geared way up, had i don't remember, something like a 25 tooth pinion (keep in mind i also had a RC10T3 and ran anywhere from a 16t up to maybe a 21t pinion) he was faster than the rest of us. but his batterys were dead in 2 minutes and his motor was hotter than hell. fast forward maybe a week and we were running in the street at a friends house. much smaller, tighter space. he didn't re-gear. we were out running him so naturally his trash talk stopped. he's going through batterys left and right. and after maybe 20 minutes there's smoke coming off the motor. motor was so hot the endbell melted and deformed around the edge of the can.
moral of the story. gear your junk properly and keep your mouth shut.

i used to a get a kick out of the noobs who bought slash's, don't read the manual. disregarded the optional pinion in the box. threw in a 2s battery and proclaimed to anyone who would listen that they're doing 50mph. 🤣
