I really don't have much personal experience with the nano-techs, but I have seen them recommended quite a bit as a decent "budget battery".

I lol at "budget" i was only going to get one rc. Befor you know it i have $1000s and $1000s in rc's
I'm not rich by all means but i got $800 in this truck already and its just the beginning. I woild hate to lose this truck over a $50 battery lol. Well i did already but traxxas fix it lol what name. Brand have you been using that has held up pretty good?

I exclusively use SMC now, but I have used thunder power and venom as well with good results. I just can't see the reason to spend $100 on 1 batt, when I can get almost the same quality from SMC at half the price or less.

So my emaxx should come in today!
And i put alot of thought in to this lipo thing. I ordered 2 spc 2s 5000mah to see how i like brushless.
Also to learn how to drive brushless.
Them ill go 6s. Baby steps lol

Just got done looking at the truck and the system they put in looks different.
1. The + and - wires are much thicker and the motor wires too.
2. The wire that connects to the receiver is white red and black.
Used to be orange and brown.
3. I guess i shouldn't be picky but it looks like they ran it without the body one and it flipped because my back body post are shredded. Lil bit of meat left to put the body clips on :(

I went with spc because when i get used to this truck with that power i will later used them for my hpi Sprint's that i got wile i was waiting on my emaxx. Then the 6s will come in to play :)

Ok my lipos came in!
Let me make sure i get this right.
I have
2S 5000mah 40C packs.
If charging one at a time i would setup my charger at
5 amps?

That's what I charge mine at. That should work for ya

And thanks to all that have poste . On this thread. Very much helpful

Ok i just ran the truck and it runs alot better!
More punch and a heck of a run time.
The lipos didnt even get warm at all and i got tired befor any sighs of low power.
The motor stayed at 127 degrees.

When charging they didnt get hot at all is that normal?
My nimh packs got hot charging and after runs.

These lipos are super light as well. Not even both put together make a 7 cell

That's completely normal for them to not get hot, when charging or running

Ok so tomorrow we have a fun rc day at my lhs. I was wondering if i can charge my lipos tonight and used them in the morning or do i need to charge right befor i leave the house?

You can charge them tonight, lipos hold a charge pretty good. A lot better then nimh. Just don't charge them well you sleep, but from previous posts I see you know that and respect lipos for what they can do if left to charge unattended

I did a 70% charge then this morning i fully charged them took like ten minutes :)
