Just got my Tenacity DB Pro Fox Edition a couple days ago. Absolutely love it so far, except for the sloppy steering, mainly the left wheel. Got the exotek aluminum steering kit on the way, along with some RPM skidplates and DE Racing mud guards. I originally bought 3s batteries for it, but found out the hard way it needs the slightly shorter hard packs and I only have those in 2s. Still pretty quick on those, don't really think I need it to be any faster for what I'm doing with it.

Enjoy. It is a fun RC. Keep us updated!

Welcome to RCTalk! Glad you're enjoying the DB!

Enjoy its a great truck. I went 3s for the efficiency. I geared down a bit so nothing ever gets hot and its fast enough to have fun but not stupid fast( l was racing the guys running 2s with their scte and they were faster than me down the straights but l had much more pull out of the corners)

Did the same thing :)
I took delivery about 17 days ago of mine, but didnt have the time to look at it closely.. but I did see that the seals were broken and the zip ties are gone.
Didnt thing too much of it honestly, wich is always a mistake as I will show.
But meanwhile I did I set it up, bound it with my new fancy DX5 Pro radio, even removed the stickers, and than I realised:
- dusty cabin
- scratches on the body
- broken ESC.

Chassis, suspension, etc, all did look untouched however.
So, its a mixed bag.
Either way, the broken ESC mount made me wanna either have a refund or a swap.

It was their last Fox body model, I suspect a showroommodel that had been sitting for a long time, but that doesn't explain the broken ESC mount....

Anyway, after sending those pictures they admited they were in the wrong and should have communicated about it being a showroommodel.

So they quickly offered a whole swap, I got a basically new DB from a Lucas kit, but could keep my black (scratched) body, kept the box, etc. All done in shop with me standing next to the seller while he did all the swaps (pinions, tools transmittor etc all from the Lucas body too).
But we didnt swap the wings, so I have a Fox body, with the black wing from a Lucas body, wich looks better, imo

This if from before the swap and without all of my packages arriving.

I already replaced the rear alu chassis brace upgrade, did the 3S conversion and intalled the DE Racing mud guards, so I had to swap them over again.
+ I did get a gift card for the body issues too, 60 dollars.

Anyway, here is the swapped body on the new chassis with all the parts ready to install.
IMG_5123.JPG

Didnt want to ride it before I first installed all my orderd alu upgrades, these include:
- DE Racing mud guards, wich I found the right part number thanx to this forum. I did had to cut them slightly, since they were rubbing the inner wheels
- Exotek steering kit
- full Losi alu upgrades: Front and rear chassis braces, you do need shorter screws for these!!!, rear hubs, front spindles with carriers
- Savox 1283 servo: .13s and 30kg @6V :cool::thumbs-up:
- traxxas receiver box, tight fit and not necessary, but did som cutting to get some more slack in the fitment process.
- RPM skidplates

Pictures part 1 :)

Also got myself a fancy DX5 Pro radio, wich is already set up.

And last, the full spektrum range of batteries and charger. 2 3S 100C 5000mah lipo's with the Spectrum dual charger and a nice safe Bat-safe to keep it all tidy and safe 👌🤓

Last hastle, my UPS costs that have been paid double, since the package arrived unexpectedly after 12 days or so of the supposed delivery date
So what happened is my room mates accepted the package and the driver asked to pay the costs, but I already did as soon as I got notified by UPS I had to pay costs, when it entered the country.
So UPS received double payment :thumbs-down:
I dont understand why a driver doesn't know about the fact that there as already been a payment for a package.
The tracking number even shows an update that I already paid for the costs and on my numerous phone calls, they also acknowledged that I have already paid.
So why doesn't the driver know than, shouldnt he be the most important person in the whole chain to know :sour: :meh:

Whats even worse, he was paid in cash and did not give a receipt of payment....so, I made a case, and I wonder how long it will take to get repaid

I used to ship with UPS in the past and I remember them being very inaccurate and costly.
Unfortunately I forgot about that experience, but after this, I know I will never forget NOT to use UPS ever again when I order internationally!

I did order 1 of the alu chassis upgrades from Ebay, send over to Europe via USPS, and they used an Ebay service, wich was very swift and satifying.
Also the DE Racing mudguards came from them directly, wich also was via USPS.
Strangely USPS is less hastle than the so called expensive express courier services of UPS, wich is not logical, but lesson learned.:meh::sour:

Wow! Glad to hear the shop made it right and even tossed in the gift card on top.

I went with the same charger and battery box. I also bought some of those small fire resistant lipo bags from Amazon that can fit 2-3 standard 2s/3s batteries in them, probably just going to use those for storage and the box for charging. Spektrum sells the connector cable to go from an IC5/EC5 battery to the IC3/EC3 ports on the charger, you can get those and 2s/3s balance lead extension cables from Amazon or eBay which give you plenty of cable length to charge the batteries while they're in that box.

You've now got me wanting to track down a black wing for my Fox Edition, haha.

The exotek upgrade is sweeeet, so free flowing.
The only thing holding the whole steering back from perfection is the little slop from the stock parts such as the adjustment bars for the toe and camber.
The ball bearings on those give a bit of slack.

And honestly, the upgraded aluminium spindle carriers too..but they are nice and should thoughen it up.

IMG_5153.gif

its not that clear, but you can see the mud guards have been shaved a bit on top to stop the rubbing against the inside of the rims...

The servo is maybe a bit overkill 🤪 but the respons is on point.
Little issue here is the TLR alu servo arm, its to short or too low, if either is fixed, the head of the screw wont hit the actual servo in full lock.
So I lose a tiny bit of my end point to the right because of that.
Pitty for the servo arm, but its an easy fix.
IMG_5168.gif

Here you can see the screwhead where it hits the servo
IMG_5159.gif

Hope to have enough time by next weekend or so to acutally take it for a ride, because everything in between purchasing and finishing, has already been very bumpy 🤨🤨

A close up of the stock servo link and a screw I had left, not sure anymore if thats the stock one or not.

I did have to force the screw into the servo arm because its 1 size bigger.
When using a stock screw, I did had a nut to have it fixed in place on top, so it came lose.
But forcing one size bigger didnt seem to affect operation.

As you can see, the bearing thing that allows the servo link to move free, it sits a tad to low, so the head of the screw will touch the body of the servo.

So you, will have to look for a longer or a higher sitting servo arm, easy solution.
IMG_5158.gif

Here is the Traxxas box that makes the electronics sealed off from the outside, rather than the open wide stock receiver sitting on the side of the body lol 🤨
I had to shave of some material to make it fit a bit easier on both sides.
It can be done without, but didnt feel ok to me since the housing of the central diff is also plastic and I felt some tension, better take some slack off was my thinking.

IMG_5166.gif

IMG_5164.gif

With the wires for the ESC, the Servo and the lights, and such a large receiver, it is a very tight fitting, so I was a tad concerned about damaging my cables, but it worked out good.
I even got the antenna to sit in its stock place with the pole thing.
That was the most fidly job of all 🥴
IMG_5144.gif

a picture of both mud guards, shaven, but with the wheel attached, you can't really see that they have been shaved off on top with the wheels attached.

can't wait to ride it!

haha yeah, that black wing makes mine unique lol

Indeed, I got all the extension cables so I can charge everything up while in the box, as you can see on the two pictures above ;)
I had to buy and ship those parts separate though, because I didnt realize it would be too short without those parts.

And I also got me one of those lipo bags, should be handy while on route to the track.

Forgot, but to go on track, possibly with my bicycle (its that close to me), I bought me one of these.
https://koswork.com/portfolio-item/...kpack-for-trx-4-or-similar-crawlers/#tab-id-2

Fits the buggy without the wheels, perhaps even with the wheels, but havent tried that.
And there is still spare room.
But not quit perfect to just dump my radio in there without any form of tie down....will have to find some way to transport my radio if I wanna go with a bike to the track.

I forgot the most vital part of many rc cars, chassis protection 🤣

20211017_234410.jpg

Still have not taken it to my local track because I dont wanna ride in rain or mud and the track has never been dry for the last couple of weeks.

So had time to fiddle with the fake antenna I bought to find out the plastic attachment was utter crap, made out of bad quality 3D printed plastic.
So I made it fit differently and made up a little flag too

I wonder how long the construction will hold up on its maiden voyage 🤣

+ like 1 week later the UPS drivers boss arranged that they would return with the cash payment wich they did.
So the whole UPS issue got resolved in the end.
All is good.

Hello All,

I received my DB Pro a few weeks ago and have been upgrading it since. I received the version 2 model, which I believe just comes with newer electronics. I haven't noticed a huge difference between the supplied Spektrum S614 servo and the Savox SB-2271SG. The Savox is definitely faster, but not by a ton. The Savox is much much louder than the Spektrum though. I'm running the buggy on 2S for now as that's plenty fast for me.

So far I've upgraded:

Losi aluminum chassis braces (LOS331009, LOS331010)
Losi SCTE 3.0 hinge pins and a-arm mounts (not sure of part#, found on eBay)
Losi receiver box/servo mount (LOS231024)
Losi 25T servo horn (drilled out and taped to fit the M3 screw) (TLR1557)
Losi aluminum lasernut rear hubs (LOS334011)
Losi aluminum lasernut spindle carrier (LOS334013)
Losi aluminum lasernut front spindle (LOS334012)
Losi aluminum motor mount (LOS331012)
Savox SB2271SG servo
Arrma 3s BLX motor heatsink and fan (the heatsink needed to be trimmed to fit in my car)
DE SCTE mud flaps (DER-110-10, ordered directly from DE website)
Exotek aluminum steering set

Waiting to install the rear aluminum bearing cups and hardened outdrives when I rebuild the diffs.

Hey Guys,

Does anyone know if it's possible to convert the DB Pro shocks from bladder to emulsion? In my manual it lists the TLR bleeder caps as optional parts (TLR5062). I saw a post on Arrma forums by a user that converted their DB Pro to a buggy and they have the bleeder caps installed: https://www.arrmaforum.com/threads/...ead-by-alex-m-and-slick2500.14799/post-515098

Looking at the manual for the DB Pro and an SCTE 3.0 (just for reference) it looks like swapping the caps out would be straight forward. Any downsides to doing this?

One more addition to the rig. I added an aluminum plate similar to others in this thread to take some pressure off the ESC tabs. Used longer TLR screws to account for the increase in height from the plate.

Finally some some snapshots of Losi after last Wednesdays hot run, 40 minutes in total, around 20 minutes first pack, than 17 minutes on the pack, is was his first real day outside after actually 10 months of gathering dust.

Very happy with my aluminum upgrades and the RPM bottom pieces front and rear.
Because I will try to upload some videos, with nice jumps but also some painful crashes

And today also got a motor fan, because in retrospect, it was perhaps not such a good idea to take a first go at temps above 30°C...
Engine temps were the worst, after some riding, I noticed them to be above the healthy 80°C...

So, fans are a must, and it took some adjustment work and fiddling to make it fit.
Much dremeling was needed.

Apparently it wasn't foreseen to fit a fan since everything is quite compact on that 1/10 chassis, but it worked!

The pics.

Only thing that irritates me is my Traxxas receiver box, its wobbling around and just held in place by the other components and a very small bit of double sided tapes that 'works' all the rest has failed.

Will have to find a solution for that, because that slight wobble also causes the receiver inside to move, wich in that case also has an influence on the AVC stability control since it reads the movement of the receiver itself.🤔

the crashes

some jumps

havent ridden in years, so quite happy that I picked up so fast, than again, this is an easy handling kit :)
AVC is on 50% steering with 100% priority

can somebody confirm if the front shock tower sits at an angle backwards?
20220808_122619.jpg

I believe thats normal as the body posts wouldnt fit and the front bulkhead looks fine too, as does the chassis, nothing abnormal.

but just one some confirmation lol

thx!
