You are correct about the diff case bearing. I just received a new diff set and it uses a larger diameter bearing. I think the OD is 13mm for the new bearing.

Regarding the grub screw, the grub screws are only used to attach and hold the center coupler in place on the pinion diff gear shaft. Look over the parts diagram in the manual and it should help explain. The Tekno outdrives are assembled the same way as the stock outdrives. Remember to place the bearings on before assembling the diff as the bearings don't fit/slide over the Tekno outdrives.

those fuckers at Losi just were lazy and gave that updated or dated part the same partnumber WTF?

and whats newer, the one with the bigger diameter or the smaller one 🤷‍♂️

the screw i mean, is not a grub screw, was wrong in word choice, had nothing to do with the outdrivers cup, but with the center drive cup
dunno what its called, but the combo is called a center diff coupler...

can't seem to find that seperately?

Wich version is the newest improved one?
Bigger bearings is better I assume so the one with the bigger bearing size would be the newest model?
But I'm confused because the second time I ordered the diff cases they had to be back ordered....so that implies to be the new one, and thats the one that came with the same size and smaller inner bearing...strange!

@Bagel RC
found the screw, I was mixing up cup drives lol
but its LOS236003
or Kyosho https://www.mkracing.eu/kyosho-schraubstifte-2x11-fazer-rage-2-0-kyofa511.html

anyhow, I can't continue with my fiddlesticking front diff case rebuild!
Because I dont have the bigger bearings!
Why doesn't losi update their fiddlesticking parts numbers since its a clearly different part internally!!!!!

aaaargh

@Bagel RC you dont happen to have a part number for those bigger bearing size?
wanna be 100% correct before I order a losi part now ....

kinda pissed off that the bearings still havent arrived yet, despite choosing the expensive 'express delivery option'

so meanwhile I filled up the gap between chassis and ESC with my last Sugru, and filled up the crack at one mounting point that began to crack

And I installed the nets, looking good imo

okay, here goes a summary of the rebuild.

As mentioned, I bought two set of diff cases from two different shops at two different times.
For the rear, that was my luck, because I received the V1 and the V2 diff cases.
The difference? the bearing size, and you can see here:
IMG_5221.JPG

So for the rear I could still use my current bearing and continue the rebuild....

Some V1 vs V2 differences at the rear diff cases:

Even the outside is different:
IMG_5223.JPG

I did experience fitting issues with the new pin holders stuby, being much bulkier.

So just had to sand off a bit of material with my trusty Dremel and it fits like a glove!

Rear DONE:

And I already posted close ups of the front V1 vs V2 diff cases in post 283....

But the front diff build itself, not so lucky.
My order had ONLY the V2s, with the bigger bearing size.

So had to order new bearings, here are the smaller ones vs the newer ones:

new diff case with bigger bearing and the old case already included a shim it seems....

with the provided shim, I had absolutely no play, perfect feeling drive cup

All oiled up internals

close up of the Sugru I used to fill the gap between ESC-chassis, it will harden, but hopefully be a bit soft so it can act as a 'bumper' when I'm slapping this thing on that harsh track:
IMG_5308.JPG

The wing damage is also being fixed, hopefully those tie zips can also act as a buffer/strap for future hard crashes lol:

Did the same as a preventive measure for the other side thats still good:

Next, Dusty Covers and that should wrap it all up and make it ready for its next few runs....

Received my aluminum body panels yesterday. I ordered these from SendCutSend. They cost $29 and are made from laser cut 0.04" 5052 aluminum. The purple M3 button head screws were purchased from Ebay. My original zebra stripe plastic body completely fell apart and I didn't want to spend $60 on a new one just to have it break again.

The wheels are Proline Trenchers with 12mm hex and the smaller offset insert. With the rear Tekno drive shafts, there's just barely enough threading for the wheel nut. We'll see if it holds, lol.

@Bagel RC does it add more weight compared to stock?

Unfortunately it does. I'm not positive how much, but just picking the car up I can tell a difference. Plus the weight is all up high which isn't good. I was thinking I could at least make the inner cover and roof out of carbon fiber to help.

did you do anything about the shocks to perhaps compensate for the added weight?

last part of the puzzle, ready to be installed and than ready to race!

this is standard Large size.
some pages back I think I posted some pictures of a DB Pro with their nettings....

I will be posting my own pictures soon of the install and when done.

damage finally fixed (and spares are on stand by 🤣)
netting and shock covers from Dusty Covers installed
and last but not least, new tires are looking dope!😎

However, my car suffered damage, again....this time a faulty bearing that fiddlesticked up the inside of my rear diff case.

Had just one spare rear diff case of the output side left, so I could fix it the same day.
All in all, the truck held up pretty good and the new tires are superior than stock as I expected.

But, after seeing some buggies going harder, I am planning to buy myself something similar, I have Losi 8IGHT-XE ELITE RACE KIT in mind.
There was one yesterday, and many Tekno's and Xrays, and they just flew...they went harder, faster and higher and didnt budge and kept on track...
Even when crashing hard, they were indestructible.

In all honesty, the DB Pro, well it could hold its own, is almost a joke compared to those buggies :)
