Well, I screwed up with this whole thing by not checking measurements. Not sure which way to go now. My own fault....
I assumed the shaft diameter of the brushed 390 motor was 3.175 so I went with that when trying to use the stock pinion with new motor that has 2.0mm shaft diameter. Ordered reducing sleeve from 2.0 mm to 3.175mm. It didn't fit..... So I looked up the specs for the brushed 390 motor (should have done this before hand) and shaft diameter is 2.33mm. I am really stupid for not checking that before hand. The pinion gear is 17t Mod1 2.33mm bore and it doesn't fit right on the 2mm shaft of new motor. In order to match the spur gear that came with this RC I would need a 17T Mod1 with 2.0mm bore but i don't think there is such a thing. I've found lots of 17T mod1 gears but most of them have either a 5mm or 3.175 bore which doesn't help me at all. So my question now is, do I spend more money to change motor with larger shaft diameter to get the right 17T mod1 pinion gear to work or just give up on the whole thing and go back to brushed 390 motor and chalk up the money I spent as bad experience ??? Very frustrated.
I guess the hobby fans 4500kv motor i posted earlier would be one of my options since I've found 17T Mod1 pinion gear that would fit the shaft diameter.
