The gear would have .012" runnout if it is 2.3mm. And I am going to bet it has a 2.3mm bore. If that is the case, it would destroy the spur. This whole fiasco would have me stripping the RC of any useful parts and plopping it into a vertical file cabinet 😆
yall are so negative 🤣

I’m rooting for the guy! We’ll just have to wait a few days and see what he tells us. 🤪

I have seen so many threads on here where people struggle with them. It's hard to watch, when you know they could buy a Grom or something from LC Racing that would be much better.

Shoot even HBX has some pretty decent 1/16 scales for around the same price as the WLToys cars. RedCat and Maverik rebrand them under their own names, so plenty of US parts support too. That’s about the only Chinese mini RC I’d even consider and that’s just because I can get parts for them quick and they’re proven to be durable.

I saw that. I sent the guy a message asking him if it is indeed 2mm. But he hasn't responded yet. Measuring that bore with calipers, it would be easy to measure .3mm under actual size. ID tips on calipers have a small flat. The smaller the hole, the more the discrepancy.

Won't know for sure until it gets here, eBay shipping says between the 15th and the 21st soworse case is next friday

New Motor has 2mm shaft so I'm hoping it is in fact 2mm or it will have to keep looking i guess

I found some helicopter pinions on aliexpress with the same specs that eBay seller is claiming. I’m curious if that’s where he’s sourcing them and he’s just putting WLToys model numbers in the title for an increase in traffic to his listing.

Could be. He also said "perfect for WLToys models 😆

I replied "But WLToys use 2.3mm" so he said you have to drill them out 🤪

So you could be right

This car was my first RC purchase and have learned a lot since, So I consider that a good thing. Would I buy it if I knew then what I know now ? NO, but we all have to start somewhere, Right ?

A lot of people start out buying the wrong stuff in this hobby. Wrong kits, wrong charger, wrong tools, etc. The ones that find a forum like you, and not some worthless fanboy Facebook group typically end up back on the right path. I played around with WPL trucks for awhile just for something different. The kits were like $30-$60 each, depending on included upgrades. The bodies were about the only thing worth having on them. The rest of this is 3d printed.
