No matter what position i place the servo arm and centre/trim it always seems to hit the body on one side or the other, i'm losing the will to live so any input/advice is appreciated massively, this new servo is 25kg metal gears so fingers crossed but i'll await replies before i potentially ruin another, lol.

thanks in advance, Aitch

Having only set up TeknoRC steering on my buggies, here's how I do it.

1) Without servo arm attached, hook up servo to Rx and find neutral with steering trim centered.
2) Attach servo horn while wheels are pointed straight.
3) Adjust end-point travel on Tx settings, so it "barely" actuates the servo-saver at the end of travel in both directions.
4) Drive car and adjust steering trim. If it's significantly "off", I adjust the rod-ends to bring trim back to "zero".
5) Re-check Tx endpoint settings in step 3, because I changed the geometry via those rod-end adjustments.

I think you probably need to reduce your endpoints until you don't run into interference/contact?

Thank you WRM i think you have found out my steering servo problems being the epa but i only have the stock receiver which i don't think has an epa setting! but i will check the manual tomorrow, thanks again WRM for you advice, Aitch

Until you upgrade the radio with more bells & whistles, you'll have to use the Dual Rate on the XP120 to limit the servo's throw. Overextending a servo's throw is probably the biggest reason why you are going through so many.

The transmitter would be where the epa is set, not the rx.

Is that an Mt10? Hard to tell in the video. The factory tx/rx combos are not always friendly with the epa.
i always get the transmitter/receiver mixed up when being referred to but that is what i meant and yes it's an mt10 v2

Most excellent, i was setting up the servo incorrectly i just fitted and never knew what the dual rate switch was for i now do, which proved costly, lol, now have epa stopping and perfectly sorted out dual rate travelso steering wheel fully turned is same as dual rate stop plus lessened the steering servo arm travel if this is called the dual rate epa lol. thanks again, i am living proof that you can teach an old dog new tricks.

I’m late here and not read complete thread, but my guess is your endpoints need setting 👍🏼

All OEM equipment, had D/R turned up but no way to limit end points.

Pop goes the servo.

Glad you got it dialed!

When they're on the bench suspended in the air, turn the wheels, if the servo is buzzing or screaming as I say, you need to back it off.

In this case, the only adjustment you have available is the Dual Rate function which is servo speed and throw.

We all want it cranked for speed but if you do not have the throw for it, or have it properly limited you end up here.

Like you said, expensive lesson. But my friend, education isn't free. 🙂

Way to keep at it though. I am sure a number of RCs end up in a closet somewhere due to this exact situation.
