Need help finding a electric set for a WPL RC truck

Damn, that is one crazy crawler. I like that you got shocks on and massive tires. The LEDs are pretty cool as well. A hiccup I might have is trying to build a water tight hull especially since you got a servo arm sticking out and it needs room to move. but I added some plastic and filled in gaps and holes in the stock servo pan. Now in the process of replacing most of the plastic with metal. I put wheels from a JJRC Q65 which are crossply style. it gives the truck a few MMs of increased height. I put upgraded lifting lugs on the front and an extra leaves in the rear. All around its still leaf strung But its better than nothing. View attachment 127854

The light bar is great. Really bright and works on a wide range of volts. I like that because I have to put a power regulator in most of the time to bring the power down to usually 3 volts for alot if lights I use. The other lights come from the light bar shown below but I removed the lights and installed them separately then used the round metal bar as a rear bumper. The shocks is a wpl upgrade in the rear with better shocks installed and the front is from a wpl Toyota truck. It works really good and has plenty of flex for it's size. Have you got to drive yours yet? If so how does it do. It looks like it has plenty of height.

I only have a small bit of advice.. the rudder can turn along with the front wheels thru a Y harness on the steering channel..servo Y harness.. youll also need a flex shaft for propeller shaft.. good luck in your build.
I have found did the Dremel tools with a flexible shaft extension works really well for stuff like that.

Hmm indeed. An airplane radio would seem to work since they have 5+ channels. Forgive me for being so ignorant about this field of hobby. I'm willing to learn. so if I want the Forward, back, left, right,, front/rear lights, water prop that can be engaged via controller and rudder, a fly sky 5-6 channel radio would suffice, right? I assume it would be plug and play, or do I have to do some binding. Its a shame that my grandfather isn't around anymore. RC's were his thing, but it never occurred to me to ask him questions about this hobby. now I'm stumped on how the electronics work, setup and feasibility. I appreciate all the help you guys can offer.
For a controller this is what I use and it does a good job. Surpass hobby makes it and you can get I from Amazon for not much. I think I payed 25.00 for it.

I'm gonna have to check that out for my Q60
You can get plastic or a aluminum cage from banggood or wish for cheap if you won't to go that way. I used plastic for mine to keep the weight down. After cutting and fitting I roughed it up and painted them clear coated it.

I think plastic would be a better option. I'll post some pics of my two builds soon.

No I haven't driven mine yet. Still trying to find a electronic set I like. right now I'm in the process of upgrading everything to metal. the stock pinion and bevel gear are pot metal and you can hear a lot of binding in the mesh. I got the motor/gearbox installed right now with the drive shafts attached. That 370 motor has some powerful magnets, can't turn it over without power.

Here's the pics of the two builds that I'm doing, first is the WPL B16. Don't mind the red paint. I used these for the q60 build but wasn't happy with the results

I'm thinking about getting one of these winches, I know you were talking about getting a winch, figured I'd send this one your way. https://usa.banggood.com/TFL-C1616-...mmds=detail-left-hotproducts&cur_warehouse=HK

Thanks for looking out. I will check it out. I have lots of motors and I planed to use one for a winch but haven't come up with a Drum to spool the line into yet so to get it going I think I might by one for this truck. I have about 5 builds going in at the moment so I'll have plenty of projects to use some small unused motors on. Thanks again

No problem

And last is pics of the Q60 race truck.
Awsome the Q69 looks kinda like a demolition derby truck. What kind of motor was you useing oh and I was looking back over our conversations and realized I miss spelled a bunch. Working on my rugs now and was useing my speech to text option and I'm guessing my phone needs to go back to kindergarten. Anyway the builds are looking good. I gotta ask though why is the propeller pointing up on the one truck or did I not see it right? Here is one more if my builds and I think you have seen the other wpl being built but I'm also doing a swamp boat for my kids. That is still alot of parts being sorted through.

The winch I posted a link to earlier should fit in the back like this.

Very cool. I am not the one to use a winch to pull out my rig but I will use it to pull it tow some other rig. That's another reason I stuck a 540 motor in a 1/16 scale wpl truck. Massive power to weight ratio. Go big or stay home. I really like the back mounted winch thanks again for the link. Oh what all do you plan to do with the military truck?

So
That's a pretty cool truck if it has a hot motor sticker, then I bet that truck is fast. The white truck was using a 130 slot car motor, but the motor was so hopped up that it cooked the stock circuit board and power switch. as far as the other truck. I haven't gotten that far with the prop. the black plastic driveshaft is a test piece. I'll eventually use a metal drive line for the prop shaft, shaft will run and stick out a little past the rear diff. and I wanted to show off the propeller "screw" to give a better image of the project.

As far as building or using it when its finished? I can't believe you stuck a 540 in your truck. That will definitely get the job done.

Oh ok hey you liked the bigger tires on mine here is a set of tires real cheap and a photo of mine with them in it so that you can see the size. They are real soft but the rims have a larger size diameter then the wpl axle but the wpl rims will fit in the tires and then will work on the truck if you are interested. The tires are under 5.00 from Amazon and also just a photo of a wpl with the wpl tank. They say it wouldn't fit this truck so I had to do it to show that they were wrong. Just for the heck of it. Hey a possible tip for you if you ever build a rock crawler and need some crazy awsome shocks below is acouple of photos of something I come up with. The arm will pivot allowing it to have so much flex it's crazy. If your not into that try the upgrade leaf springs in the other photo they work pretty good for leaf springs.

I have those Thick metal differentials on my Q60 race truck. I like those. smooth as butter. Have you used the 370 motor before? I heard it has half the speed of a unmodified WPL but has a lot of torque. Suites me fine because the B16 is going to be more like an amphibious cargo truck than a rock crawler. If I did do a rock crawler, That setup would be sweet.
