We need another charger

I wouldn't lose any sleep over the balancing drain current being what the F6 Ultra has... it's 200mA better (and a tad bit lower in price) than its closest competitor. Now, if the F6 Ultra's balancing current specs fell in the 250mA~800mA range, I'd be having nightmares. At that point, I'd probably almost consider getting two more Hota D6 Pro chargers.

Is there anything you know of that would be better for the $?

the d6 is fine and I’m good with 30-40 minute charges. Just looking for more capacity, if I could charge 3 times as many batteries at the same time it would be great.
I wouldn't buy a 4 channel. As HPI said, I'd use a balance board. I'd just grab a big ass 2 channel. iChargers and ISDT are top of the line. But you're going to be best sourcing an appropriate power supply.

Sorry, I've been battling pneumonia for a week or so. I'll look tomorrow (today) and see what I can find in AC. But it might be time to step up to DC for charging at 2C. You're likely not going to find a 4 channel AC charger that can charge 4 batteries at 2C if they are very big batteries.

It's the balance current needed that will really hold you back though. 4 channels on the F6+ at 1000 mAh balance will be stuffed with 4 large resistors to burn off the excess voltage. That's why it has a lower balance current than your D6 Pro - 4 resistors instead of 2. That's pretty slow for big batteries. But will be ok for charging 5000 to 6000 mah batteries

My advice - grab a big 2 channel and two balance boards. iCharger and ISDT are pro level chargers, but 90% of their stuff requires an external PSU. You should probably just look into that for your D6 and grab another D6 and PSU lol.

Another thing... if you grab a few 10000 mAh 8S batteries, you can use them in the field to recharge your batteries.

But here ya go money bags. Stop fuking around.

To even push that charger to its maximum power output, you would have to have 4 1200W PSU's wired together, plugged into two different circuits off your main. So you'd have to plug the charger into two different outlets, in two different rooms 🤣

I remember when the iCharger came out, I want to say it was my second year racing. People were talking about over charging their packs and whatnot. I looked at the user interface and thought, "what type of laboratory equipment is this?"

That being said those guys in 1/10 buggy 17.5 were untouchable!!!!

Yeah, I have seen the interface, and it's quite clunky. And it has a lot of ways for you to burn your house down. The ISDT user interface kinda like what Hota uses. I like the Hota better.

That’s another reason I’m still leaning towards the hota, needs to be something my son will be able to do safely

Yeah, I'd be happy with the F6 with what you run.

Do you have a couple 12v car batteries you can use in the field? You can charge at 2C and zap them packs back pretty quick on the D6. Or grab a couple bigass mAh 6S packs like these 😁

I've got a DC only F6, and used it for a time, until I decided the P/S was just too much in my way.

I like the Hota GUI myself, and since you and yours are already familiar with it, the F6 Ultra makes a lot of sense, IMO

I thank yall for your input on this! Maybe 🤣

So for home I’m gonna just stick with the f6, due to the fact that I will feel better with my son using it while I’m not around during summer break.

But…between this thread and @majin thread, I’m thinking why not tap into the 24v on board our boat and have a charger available for when we out on the river. 99%of our running is at our property or on the river, no need for super fast charging for racing or anything. If we could recharge on the water though for the boats, that would be awesome 😎
