  1. Bashing
Hey all!

Santa brought my son an Amazon buggy. Recently, I’ve ventured out into our cul-de-sac with it and started bashing it! I could tell this thing was going to break very soon. I was hooked though.

I have a TA Rival MT10 arriving tomorrow… for me.

My son excited that we will be able to bash together. However… I’ve nearly destroyed his Christmas present! I’d like to get him something that is upgradable and that could share some parts from my MT10 as I upgrade that.

Any used recommendations or something around $200 that comes to mind?

Maybe a brushed Aarma Granite 1/10?

Thanks all!

Welcome to RCT

If you want a different model that shares parts with the MT10, the Pro 4 SC10 shares most parts except the chassis plate and center drive shaft.

ebay often has lots of used models, though most are sold as complete chassis in need of tires/body and electronics.

🤷‍♂️
Like @9x19 said, the Team Associated Pro4 SC10 is your best bet (only bet actually) for parts sharing between RC platforms. If you dig around enough, I think you'll find both platforms are pretty darn good. My only real complaint is that neither one comes in kit form, or I'd have one or both of them.

Yea like said the MT10 shares 98 percent of the same parts with the Pro4 SC10. The sc10 is 255 for the RTR brushed combo, or 340 for the RTR brushless combo, although both are out of stock according to AEs direct website. Other retailers / shops might have them in stock, or also said you can find decent rollers and semi RTRs used for a bit less but they would most likely need tires/wheels, body, electronics, ect.

Other cars recommendations, Arrma Gorgon is a very fun truck. Even the Granite too. But the only option for parts sharing with the MT10 would be the SC10.

Here's a Pro4 SC10 I been renting from a buddy (upgraded for racing)

Welcome to RCTALK.COM!!! 😎😁
Buy another MT10 or Associated product if you want to be able to share parts and keep costs low.
I own a Gorgon and its a bomb proof blast! I recommend it ALL the time. I love mine and haven't broken a part on it yet. Lipo battery is my only upgrade.
As @DavidB1126 pointed out, parts aren't interchangable to MT10.

Look on AEs site for the "clearance" section, sometimes you can get a good deal on BNIB models with damaged packaging.

Just my opinion, but, I wouldn't as much worry about parts interchange, simply because having spares is always a good thing. As for something he can run with your MT10, almost any of the Arrma 1/10 scale brushed trucks, or even a Traxxas Rustler or Stampede would be comparable, however, with Traxxas, they have a proprietary battery and charger that can be pricey. In my case, I just swap the battery and ESC connectors to the XT60's, since I have trucks from several different companies. It just makes life easier. Another option, although in some cases not as easy to find parts for, are the HPI Jumpshot trucks. Another option on the lower priced side of things are the HPI Maverick vehicles. When it comes to parts interchange, as long as you keep it to vehicles from the same company, and same scale, there will always be some interchangeability there. For example, with Arrma, pretty much every part on their 1/10 4WD line is interchangeable (Senton, Granite, Typhon, Vorteks). With TA, parts are interchangeable between the MT10 and Pro4 SC10. With HPI, everything is interchangeable across the Jumpshot line. Most of the time though, you can't interchange parts from different manufacturers, except in limited cases.

I have a Hyper Go H14BM. I've had it for about 3 weeks now and I freaking love it. It's fast and durable. The only thing I would recommend is ordering an upgraded servo and a gyro for it. The truck also has a lot of spare parts.

You could honestly run it without the gyro, but this little truck is fast. And at high speeds that gyros has helped me out a lot lol
