I recently got my Slash 4x4 roller, and put in my VXL system. However, I started with the optional 18T pinion with a 54T spur gear...it was heating up way too much. My friend has a 4x4 also, and he was running the stock 13T pinion with 54T spur gear without any problems. I even tried my batteries in his, and he was all good. So, I got a 13T pinion and it is still heating up. I used the same batteries also. They are all 2S Lipos. As to of what's wrong..I'm not really sure and I was just looking for some help! Thanks!

did you damage the bearings and such in your motor from heating it up too much? if not, is something binding? I just recently started working for a hobbyshop, you wouldnt believe how many of those things keep coming back with problems. I know for a fact, I will never buy a slash 4x4.

Do you have any vent holes in your body? They do help also what are you doing racing or bashing? You could try the cooling fan for the VXL and the heat sink and see if that will get your temps down. Check that rear bearing always good to take the rear and off and WD40 that rear bearing in fact all bearings just WD40 em.
