Hello, all.

I have an Arrma Vorteks 3s BLX.
Changes are being made from the rubber to the top.

Changes to the electronics are part of the deal.
The stock esc is rated at 100 amps, and the motor is 3600kv (3652)….all Spektrum.

Here’s what’s on the bench, looking for a home:
Hobbywing
3660 SL G2 4600kv motor
&
Quicrun 10BL 120 esc

I believe I selected the wrong motor & want to get the 3600kv motor of the same family.

Where does the 3660 4600kv motor want to go?
I am not sure so have a vehicle for it.

Thanks, all!

You can still use the 4600KV if you'd like, you'll just need to gear it differently. Smaller pinion and/or bigger spur gear. That being said, I'd probably return it and get the 3600KV just to have more flexibility in tuning.

Is there anywhere in “the garage” where the 4600kv motor makes sense?

my garage has a few bashers where this is even an option
Vorteks 3s BLX
Typhon 3s BLX

Boiled down & thanks for your patience discussing the topic,

What application is this 4600kv motor best for?

How are you using it, if at all?

A 1/10 scale 4wd RC ....

If you want to run 3S LiPo batteries, the 4600kv motor is not what you want.

The setup is going to be intended for street.
The current rubber is a set of duratrax speed hawks. They have the smaller 14mm hub out of the box. Those same tires seemed to be ok with 3s on the stock system during a recent run.

The same vehicle has shocks swapped out for rear Mojave and front felony shocks.

A new body is waiting for paint.

This one probably deserves a build thread.
…soon

Would be great for a 2s car like 1/10 2wd short course.

I like to hang on to stuff like that. Never know what's gonna roll into your bench in the future.

Rusty raised a good point, you'll be limited to 2S running that 4600KV, but with it being higher KV you don't really need the extra voltage anyway. If you're running that Vorteks on the street with speed hawks, then I would definitely at least try it out on 2S and see what you think. You can always switch it up later if you don't like it.

I would prob just hang on to it too. i have a few motors sitting, dwaiting on a project or to replace something I blow up.
I have been collecting parts for an Arrma Gorgon build. That motor would be GREAT in there I'd bet!
I have a 3900 kv waiting to try currently.
