Yeah, good point... it is nice that they keep releasing new buggies... it's just how certain companies release new buggies. Instead of releasing hop up parts for existing ones along the way... they just wait till there are enough differences to just release a new one that is close enough to the last one to piss all of the original owners off. That's what gets old. A DIFFERENT line, or one that targes a different group of people or price range, or different technology, fine... but to just keep releasing the same buggy over and over again with slightly updated parts as a new model... come on :eyepatch:

Plus you have to look at the price.. How many OFNA's can you buy with one Kyosho..

Most people are I know are mostly worried about their best friend in their back pocket..

You get what cha pay for, and I just learned that with my Swift / Mugen dilemma..

Thing is like W2F said.. They release a whole new car with very mild changes.. At least AE and LOSI offer conversion kits..:8-0:

Yes, I do agree with this. I still think the Storm is one of the better buggies to get into because there's so many hopups and possibilities for it. There's a reason for it - it's been around for awhile and it has not changed. You need to give aftermarket people time to produce hopups and other parts, if you don't, your product will have no aftermarket.

Now, I do see the other side of things; Kyosho wants to make a really great buggy, without the NEED for hopups. It's good in idea, but very difficult in practice without doing what you said, and that's releasing basically the same machine, over and over, with more hopups, and slapping a "NEW! Version 3!" sticker on it.

I guess that is why I like the MBX-5 so much. Strong as hell, just the right number of hop-ups available, and no need to buy a new one anytime soon. Great buggy IMHO.

I totally agree with you. Not that I don't like the Kyo and respect that it's right up there... but I am all about the Mugen for that kind of reason.

The only problem with the Updated MP7.5 series is that now is difficult to a two year old car due is not the last model in the market, when I sold my two year old EB-4S2 I got 450$ and now the best offer I have for my upgraded MP7.5 is 300$, avery body ask for K2 andK3 only.:opps:

Yeah... that is another problem. They are great cars... just think they need to re-vamp how they deal with upgrades.

Yeah.... I think I covered that, or have at least whinged about in in other threads - Kyosho have come upon a bad way of updating kits, through releasing new models.

It's purely a money maker, and does piss off existing owners (I own one so I know it better than you guys...) but they are really nice buggies, and I guess it's just a matter of having the self control to stick with what you've got.

Kyosho rely on the latest-and-greatest urge in buyers, and it's mighty hard to not get sucked in - my paper thin wallet keeps me in check though :)

My next buggy will still be a Kyosho, but I do hope they wake up some day and start thinking of the previous generation buyers, or people will start dropping like flies.

But what I was trying to say before was - they're trying to make more money, not 'trying to keep up'.

So you gonna get the new 777 or wait for the 777'2 to come out in a few months??!! ha ha ha ha

I say just hold on to your older car and hold on to your cash..:)

I'm wif ya homie :D

I'll wait till they release a car worth dropping the cash for all over again. 777 doesn't cut.

I don't own a Kyosho buggy, but if what you say is true, couldn't you just buy the parts from the new buggy and attach them to your older model, if they are the same buggies with hopups?

the k2 and the mbx 5 are both kits right?? or does the mbx come rtr at all

Frank

I would say KII, and would agree that there is no reason to spend the cash on the KIII. Take the 200.00 extra you save and buy a solid rear chasis brace(Which the 700 dollar kIII doesn't come with). KIII has nothing worth the extra money IMO. Most people with KIII end up getting the KII shorter rear shocks, because simply stated the KII handles better with them on.
