Hoba VS or any other racing(ish) 1/8 e-buggy?

yeah, you guys are right. the one RTR i was looking for is Losi - not TLR....

Seems like none of you are up to suggest Hobao (except mr. Rusty)
is it due to they are as far from "solo racing" experience or it's because of 90% of other buggies on a track will be...more professional like Tekno?

no, not ordered yet. have to decide if i will for hard racing, or just fun
I was just joking around about you having ordered already.

You can’t go wrong with Hobao. Ofna was the distributor for them and Hong Nor in the United States. Lots of people have probably owned and driven Hobao cars without realizing it as Ofna used to be very popular. The Hong Nor built cars weren’t as spectacular though IMO.

I had a Hyper SSe years ago and the thing was great… stupid durable, handled well, etc. Took multiple jumps and multiple *BAD* landings on the dirtbike track triple to bend the chassis. Never broke a plastic part though. That was 13 years ago… It would get stomped by a modern race grade 1/8 buggy now however. Can’t comment on Hobao’s newer stuff, but if it’s anything like they used to be, you’ll be in good shape.

In fact here is said dirt bike track triple from 9 years ago: 🤣

Yeah, if he scores a nice race kit for a deal, then builds it out with budget components, it can be very satisfying. That’s my recipe. That Xray I’m so fond of is running a Hitec servo(came with), a freaking Redcat branded HW SC8 esc and Hobbyking motor, talk about cheap fun, crazy good like Pop Tarts!🤣
My cookbook has similar recipes, and... I always add a dash of Tony Chachere's.

Hi Everyone! Hope your day is nice and bright!

I'm here for advice.
Start looking at 1/8 buggy. Due to i already own 2 of Hobao's (TT2.0 + SSTE) - obviously - looking at VS** buggy.
Not looking for any kind of "bashers" more towards racing style buggy, just to have 2 different class RC's (trtuggy+buggy) for me and my wife

I know, that best will be to go for EB48 2.2...but...... it's out of budget and toooo professional for me, if i could say so.
for my SSTE i've paid roughly 500 pound fully build (ARR + Electronics) and EB48 here in the UK will be about 650-700 just for the kit...so overall it will ends up about 1k. I do also know that if i will put all the availible upgrades into VS** - it will ends up roughly same amount of money (but i don't must put the upgrades straight away)
Not sure which VS option will come with NOT pillow balls steering option. (not sure how to name other front hubs option)

Whatever advice will be MUCH appreciated!!!

P.S.
also looking at Losi 8 buggy, but itt comes as an RTR and not sure how good racing and durability-wise is it. as well as parts support here
Get the vs pro if you can find one. It comes with most of the upgrades and its only a bit more expensive.

Want to say THANK YOU to everyone for advices given.
I've been to the local track last week (for the first time) and i found my way of growing in the hobby )
So, most likely i will continue with xray xb8e 2025, which most likely have a good parts support here in UK (as most 1/8 scale here are running local AGAMA brand. i don't really like that buggies especially engineering design-wise)
So, probably need to save some more money (this one just x2 of vs2 pro price) and go for it.

Thank you all again
