Team Associated went through this with their "4 series" and RC8 platforms. Long storty short: Their parts maker went bankrupt and Team Associated could not get the tooling/molds. People on waiting list/please notify list for backorder parts to come in, got emails saying their RC has been discontinued and no longer supported.
True and totally possible in this case with TLR/horizon but in terms of AE, how long ago was that? Horizon has been doing this for years and years so I don't believe it's a supplier issue but you never know. Horizon really doesn't want to let out their secrets to the public so...

TLR sucks. I’m planning on building a 5.0. Maybe RPM or someone will pick up the ball and make some arms. For now tho, imma find some and stock up. Maybe sell for a profit lol
buy front arms for 14 bucks a pair right now. sell them 5 years later down the road for 40. It will sell regardless. We should do a partnership business. Lol

If Spektrum sent me a free radio, I'd send it back.

SO DONE with this company and THIS type if corporate greed.

It would seem that somehow, somewhere, SOMEONE would have thought, after the 98th time this 'lost the molds' this has surfaced... GET THE F'ING FILES FOR THE MOLDS TOO!!!
Have an extra set made... WHATEVER the hell the thing is... FIGURE IT OUT!!!!

How many times can you show up late to work and use 'My car ran out of gas.' as an excuse before you get fired?

Its not just TLR or one specific company even... I think GM even ran into this with Corvette parts and lost molds. 🤷‍♀️

The fact is, they aren't interested in fixing the 'lost mold' situation. Lets see what the excuse is when they 'obsolete' the X... 😐

Better yet, lets stop giving a sh!t what they doall together and find a company that realizes THIS is not ok!

Given, they are not all the same identical parts but can be used together with a bit of thought...
KYOSHO lost its molds for the Optima Mid...

Lets see if I can find a control arm for THAT. 🤔

Yup, that took less than 2 mins... 👍

The planned obsolescence of kits does NOT need to happen in order for a company to continue to make money.

I have most certainly spent more on this vintage Mid resto than I would have spent had I just bought a Turbo Optima Mid Special Custom or any other kit that Kyosho offers.

Kyosho made PLENTY off me and this job PLUS I have more cars to restore AND I bought a new Mad Wagon and a ton of blingy for that too!!!
Not to mention, I do intend to race and so will need even MORE parts from Kyosho.

Tamiya has been SOLID for most kits, keeping them and parts avail alive too!

AE seems like they figured it out too... The RC10 rere's got a bit crazy but the 8 and 12 releases are showing a bigger picture to me at least.

If AE gets their parts dept straight, stops deleting their race car parts, I'd buy a FEW of their new cars at least!!!
I really like the trail Jeep and the PorschAE rally car!!! 😍

There IS a better way Horizon!!!

Without pro racer input, TLR will ONLY be selling fish trucks to noobs in 2 years or less.

What a shame! ☹️
