Losi 8 RTR differential upgrade

Can anyone help me? I bought a Lozzi eight RTR truggy from Amazon three months ago. Not sure what version it is. I blew out the front differential and bought the upgrade 8XT but it won’t fit properly in the old housing. It was a complete 8XT built differential, but the mounting brackets don’t lineup with what I have . I would love to use the upgraded differential, but I can’t find the part number for the upgraded housing that will fit by RTR please any help would be great.

First thing you're going to have to do is find out what version it is. Id go back and look at your purchase history on Amazon and see what it says. If no luck there then youll have to search for pics online of each version and find out which one is an exact match to the one you have.

Once youve dailed in what version it is then you can look up the exploded views and parts lists to find what you need.

Hi Shaun, are you running the nitro version? From what I can see, both the XTE race kit and XTE RTR use the same differential housing of TLR242025. The Nitro version however uses TLR 242013

Just checked. That’s the original housing that doesn’t fit upgraded 8XT. I know they sell the upgrade kits. I need bag 1 that fits RTR

Check out This thread on the RC Tech forum. According to this the 8T RTR uses the same diff size and the 3.0 and 4.0 generations. Unfortunately the XT diffs will not work, but if you would like an to upgrade from the RTR diff These should fit.

Edit: I should point out that there is a difference between the 8ight-T and the 8t. Given that you mentioned you purchased this one Amazon a few months ago, I'ma assuming you have an 8t as the 8ight-T was discontinued some time ago

Yes . That’s it. I’ve been an RC enthusiast for many years, but I should’ve known when i saw Amazon and Walmart selling the same thing. I should’ve known I was effed. Really how could they be selling a disc activity model from four years ago?

Nah you're definitely not effed. The purple body is the most recent nitro RTR model! Parts still available everywhere.

So confirming the model that you have, I can also confirm that the differential housing from the 4.0 is the same part number. Therefore the 4.0 diffs will fit your current housing. Unfortunately the XT diff you have will not work. But it may come in handy if you plan on purchasing another losi buggy or Truggy in the future.

Edit: I should point out that there is a difference between the 8ight-T and the 8t. Given that you mentioned you purchased this one Amazon a few months ago, I'ma assuming you have an 8t as the 8ight-T was discontinued some time ago

Further research concludes that I am wrong on this.

From what I've gathered the 8ight-T 4x4 RTR (purple body, which is also somehow a v2) was released after the 8ight-T 4.0 (race kit), which was released after the 8ight-T 2.0 RTR

Buy the 4.0 diffs. Race another day.

If you'd like to check part numbers yourself as opposed to taking advice from a random drunk on the internet
