man pat you didnt see my savage climbing the tree?? that was also it doing cartwheels off the ramp..

yea, i saw it. That was pretty cool. I was amazed at how high it actually got...

i got higher but not on camera.. the first time wa the best.. bout 5 1/2 feet and landed perfect on the tires.. but alas no vidio of that..

well, went to my lhs to look at a savage 25 in person. Looks a lot nicer in person rather than in pics. Just that the shocks were pretty firm. I know I can fix that with different springs and oil. But those shocks would be perfect for the height of jump i would be doing so I dont bottom out. One more question...

-On the savage 25 rtr, are the reciever and battery cases waterproof tight? So like If I drove it in the snow or through a puddle on accident.

Thanks

They're not 'water tight", but you'd really have to get alot of snow/water around it to get water in it.

Also, it wouldn't take too much to make it water resistant, a little plastidip, and some sealant and you're all set.

do you drive yours in the winter? If so, how do you waterproof it or dont u? Thanks
-Pat (redhatman)

I havent had mine long enough to drive it in winter, but then again, it RARELY snows here.

The best way to water proof it is to plastidip the servos up to the out drive (as far as you can cover), and tie a "radio ballon" over the receiver. If you do that you should have nothing to worry about.

whats a "radio balloon" would a regular sized party balloon work?

Ya, that's what he means by radio ballon...just a regular balloon. I've driven mine in the snow, and the water canal (completely submerged) and for the snow, all that the stuff had was plastic baggies, as for the canal....well....I did nothing cause it was on accident...lol. But I did take everything apart and dry it all off really fast, but it was all ok tho.
But, as w/ any rc, precuations need to be taken for driving in the snow like spraying WD40 on the parts, ect...

k, got some pics here:

I know its stock , but decided to post pics anyway. It is done witht the 4 bevel gear mod, and only has one break in tank so far.

Stock is still fun! Watch the pipe on it. Probably be one of the first upgrades if they still have the "composite pipe." Savage is a great truck. Take your time with the break-in. And get er dirty.
