hey, I am deciding between the monster gt, savage 25, and a revo. I like the savage, cuz i hear its tough, I like the revo cuz its fast, but I dont like the electric start. and i like the monster gt becuase Its kinda in between speed and toughness. Any opinions on what I should get would be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot RCNT!

well it repends on your pocket book.. you can make a savage faster then a stock revo but it will cost.. you can make a revo tougher then a stock savage but it will cost to.. if your not gonna race i would get the savage.. its built like a tank and you can always change the motor out later for a faster one.. it wont handle like a revo but if your bashing it wont matter as much.. if you gonna race its revo all the way.. a few arms and things and you got a good racer..

well, I was just planning on keeping everything stock... and if I got a savage, it would be a savage 25 rtr not the 4.6 or anything. But what about a mgt?

dunno about the mgt.. never had one or seen one.. guess there not as popular as the savage and revo.. if your gonna bash you will not be disapointed with the savage or the revo.. imo the savage is tougher but i havent owned a revo so i can't say that for sure. but i do know that a rtr savage is far from a racer.. tough as nails mind you .. but NOT a racer..

the only bad thing i heard about savage's is that ur gonna want new tvp's and that the tanks break a lot.

why do you need new tvp's?? i still have the factory ones on mine.. and i had cf on my .21 i couldnt tell the difference in the two.. unless you want lowerd and longer tvp's then thats just preference.. and the tank.. you gotta watch how you mount the shocks cause the tower will bend and the shock screw will hit the tank and poke a hole in it.. but other then that if you run with a body you shouldnt have to worry about it.. if you do, then pick up a cheep tank guard..

well, i think ill go to my lhs on wednesday when they open back up (labor day weekend closed until wednesday) I am going between the MGT and the savage 25. will the savage 25 wheelie? Thanks
-Pat (redhatman)

almost any truck will wheelie.. if you gear it with the 15t cb it will.. i personally dont like all the wheelies.. i would rather drive it then have to keep walking over there and flipping it over

LOL. I watched a vid for the SAVAGE .25 and they put it in a wheelie like five times, flipped it every one. Do YOU want your truck to wheelie every time you take off at a good clip? Well, I suppose you could get bars (expensive as well) Personnally I think the REVO looks tottaly demented and kickass. It's a monster.

you can gear the savage with the 18t or even a 17t and it wont wheelie all the time.. they do that in the vids to show how "powerfull" it is.. a revo would wheelie just as bad with the proper setup..

I've seen a revo, and the savage race and bash. The revo stomped ass in the race, but was not near as tough as the savage. The savage IMO is, hands down, the best basher mt out there. I've bounced mine off of trees before and drove away without a scratch.

If you're going to the lhs, DO NOT let them talk you into a t-maxx. They are a waste of money making them strong. I have close to 2K in mine and I still wouldn't want to get hit by a savage still.

Keep in mind that the savage parts are 1. Easy to come by 2. Relatively cheap. 3. Hard to break.

The only things about the savage I don't like are the wheels, and the radio, but that's just me. When you buy a savage, you might invest in a new set of wheels, and a failsafe. The wheel hexes strip out, and you will not catch a savage running full speed if it gets out of range.

Also, with a revo, the EZ start system doesn't work well. If it floods, even a little, It'll stop turning over. The roto start works sooooo much better.

Hope everything works out.

the roto uses a normal 6 cell stick.. i love my roto start.. i even got one on my buggy..

and yea that looks like it would fit but if your gonna get one i would sugest one with the charging jack like the ones on www.onlybatterypacks.com i cut a small hole in my radio box and ran the plug through it.. set up my fail safe and reciever.. and havent opened that radio box since.. when you get a savage and open the radio box you will understand how great that is..

check out this pack.. http://www.onlybatterypacks.com/showitem.asp?ItemID=10542.17
imo that is the best one to put in it because of the charge jack.. but you may want a higher mah rate pack..

the link i gave you, I just bought that pack. Can I see pics of like the top view of a savage w/o the body on? just curious to see what it looks like. Thanks

Well, I really don't know about the mgt on durablilty, but it'll be as fast or faster if you get the new MGT 4.6 SE RTR. It's like $20 more and comes w/ a .28 and stronger diffs/tranny, and a few other goodies.

so,

race= revo
bash= savage
bash or possibly race= mgt 4.6 se

sry, I am looking between the mgt and the savage 25. I just dont like the savage because it is so tall... its like short lengthwise, and then really tall. It just looks weird. LOL.

the one on the right is a savage..

what type of savage is that? 25? 4.6? thanks

a TNX is also a good racer, it keeps beating the Revo.

A savage 25 is nice you should PM SKIP and see about getting some Twisted toys LCG TVP's, they lower the engine tranny and thus lowering the center of gravity
