Lipo batteries, do u Ave to use lipo safe bag, or will any metal or plastic tin do
Not plastic but a metal tin like an Ammo can would work. Just anything that can contain a super hot fire for a couple of minutes until the lipo burns itself out. Even if you use lipo bags youd probably still want to put them in or on something that wont burn.

You can use almost any sealed object even plastic.(must be vented to prevent and explosion due to pressure) if metal is used Id put a insulator down 1st so you have no way to short circuit the battery or any charging lead.
#1 #2 is same plastic ammo box with added fireproof cloth and small smoke detector and added a vent hole with rubber seal and silaprene white glue...3 is Original bat box made 6 years b4 the now batbox stole idea..A friend made this 4 me sold about 25 on another forum.Hot tamales lunch pail is also a charge box its steel with a fireproof inset and charging hole to vent and feed wires thru

Yes!!! You should ONLY use and store in a lined metal or fire proof container or a lipo approved bag. That's why the lipo bags were developed. Ibhave two of them for my lipos. Not fire resistant or plastic or a cardboard box.. NOTHING ELSE and thats coming from a person that has worked and is in the fire protection field for over 20yrs. And have watched alot of video and read alot of info on them. As I'm new to the lipo batteries as well.. And has reseached and learned alot before getting into and using them. They are very sensitive batteries. They can burn your house down or destroy your life/belongings faster then a match. Fire is NO joke and very unpredictable. If charged and hit or dropped in the rite way or hard enough angle. And never to be over charged either more then 4.2.. or let the battery connectors come in contact with each other or have contact with any short or metal as they will short circuit and destroy the lipos. At that point they can become very unstable.. and burst And cause a problem. A very serious problem. They should be stored in a temp controlled area. That really doesn't get too hot say above 90°. Or in direct sunlight. Shouldn't be stored or left fully charged at 4.2 for more then 48hrs... if not going to use them. Always discharge them. To proper storage charge of 3.8 maybe 3.7 but NO lower. They are awesome batteries to use with lots of power. But must be respected and cared for and maintained. For long proper fun use. I hope that this helps you. And doesn't scared or deter you from getting and useing them bud.

Yea a ammo can will definitely work. I would some sort of lining a towel or something to protect against the sides of can. Just keep away from any flammable material. I'm not a expert by far. I love them awesome powerful. But also alot more care involved with lipos vrs nimh. But well worth it..👍👍👍

Yes, Ammo box is fine. Just use something if charging indoors. Lipo bags are cheap insurance.
OK surely you wouldn't outdoors, if it was bad weather

Seems like a daft question but lipo, if u left it off charge, wud it not discharge itself overtime, like nimh

The lipos have a very low shelf discharge rate. What I've read it's like less then 5% a month or so. With the nimh batteries it's all about how/where you store them. In a cool dry place they really won't discharge that fast. I have some in garage in there original boxes that still have a full charge. Though I do check them about one every few weeks.

It all depends on what type of lipo bag you have. You definitely want one that completely closes. If you take care/respect of your lipos. You shouldn't really have any problems.
