Hello fellow Nitro Rc community,

I have MP9 that is fairly new and runs fine, however notice annoying metal gear noise when roll the buggy back and forth and noticeably same when running full throttle, it tends to make this winding hi pitch noise when coasting to stop. I am not sure if this is just inherent property of the MP9. looking for advise so i don't wear down or break anything. Again, purchase this new and recently break in nitro engine.

see link provided -->

No, the noise isn't supposed to be there.
Have you tried to figure out where it comes from? Close visual inspect of your spur and clutch is where I would start. Then start pulling drive shafts and check front and rear seprately.
It sounds like the mesh but hard to say from here. 😁

When you say sounds like mesh, are you referring to spur gear and pinion gear gap? I haven't taken it apart since it runs fine but I'll take your advice before something seriously breaks because of it. I haven't taken it apart yet since nothing is binding and i want to check on noise with RC community... I'll check alignment of spur gear as start and go from there. thanks

good advice! That was it, loosen the engine and moved pinion gear away, the sound went away so it was the gap setting between spur and pinion gear. The noise went away after adjusted the gap. Pretty simple adjustment after all. thanks!
No problem! I'm glad it was easy and you caught it before chaos! 😎
I wish my Inferno was going to be so easy! 🤣

what happen to your Inferno?
Thats a mystery to me! I got it used, here.
It is in pieces, motor locked up.
It needs shocks, a few drive shafts and electronics. Then i think it will be ready to test.
I bought it hoping to save it from getting parted or scrapped. Its a project for 'some day'. 😉
I am a Kyosho guy. Lots of projects going already. 🤣

This is your throttle return spring. -which is completely misadjusted, and maxed out.

This throttle linkage collar is also completely misadjusted, and should only be about 1-1.5mm gap visible.

When I told you in my replies to your PM that you needed to make sure your linkage is correct MECHANICALLY, this is what I meant.

The videos that I shared to you in your other thread cover ALL of this, and literally walk you through doing it correctly, and why. Literally every question you’re asking is covered there. If you want to learn, watch the video’s. If you want a quick answer, and spend hours posting, and replying on the thread, while getting nowhere, don’t watch them.. Tried to help ya bud.. 🤷🏻‍♂️👍

Ah i see, hopefully you got a good deal on it with all the issues. I find parts are so hard to find nowadays maybe not for Kyosho but for some of my other brands RTR RC. Good luck but looks like this is one lucky RC car getting new owner that will give life again. Please send me pics when you're done. Love to see your finish uogrades

I bought it with the missing parts and issues in mind. I am hopeful but I won't be totally destroyed if it doesn't work out either.
I will post a build for the MP6 too. 😎
