I really love this side by side because it shows two totally different sides of vintage RC, and for me the nitro machine is what really pulls at my heart. On the left is my vintage Tamiya Hornet and on the right is my vintage Kyosho MK7.5 Kanai, and putting them together really highlights the difference between a classic fun, simple electric buggy and a much more serious race-bred nitro weapon. The Hornet has that unmistakable old school Tamiya charm and nostalgia, but the Kanai has the stance, presence, and aggression that I absolutely love, especially as a vintage nitro buggy. I cleaned both of these up myself and did the paint, livery, and detail work, so this photo means a lot to me. To me this is a really cool look at vintage RC evolution, but also a reminder of why I have such a soft spot for the more complex, mechanical, raw character of the old nitro race machines.
