So this build just got nuts literally if it wasn’t already lol. Lug nuts that is. Since all the aluminum is red. I was looking into red rims to match everything else. When I came across lug nuts for RC cars. So here it is. I’ve been trying to work out a center cap to replace the button screw. So this is what I’ve come up with so far

So to make this work on this application from right to left I started with an M4 button head screw. Next I had to ground down the head so it would fit in the M3 threaded sleeve. The sleeve had to be tapped out for the M4 screw to fit and mount the wheel. Then the cap was twisted on

The mail man is like the adult version of Santa Clause. Always hoping he brings something for me lol. So today I got these arms to go on the front steering hubs. I had to get the whole hub to get them though.

So here is the end result. Looks good but I’m not a fan of the white lettering. If anyone has a way to remove the paint without messing up the red anodizing let me know. I’ve tried finger nail polish remover and goo gone. Neither of those worked.

So much is left that is still original Kyosho? 🤣

First off welcome to forum. Wow that’s crazy they’re that close in builds. I like the power button and the red CF front shock tower. As long as this platform has been out I’m surprised there’s not a bigger forum presence for them. I’m trying to get something done weekly on the chassis till it’s where I want it to be then start on the body to closely resemble my real 66 Chevy truck I have.

Here’s an upgrade thought i had posted here before I did earlier to the chassis when I first got the truck. It’s a chassis protector but more for looks than protecting. Tried lining it up best as I could to look like a real underneath of truck.

Nice ride Have you done anything to change the stock steering setup? I’ve also painted the K white like yours as well! I’m hoping somebody makes the lower a-arms in red anodized aluminum soon.
I put the kyosho alum steering bell crank/servo saver setup in it and honestly donnot think its worth 50$ The plastic inserts that they use for the silver rod are kind sloppy and still wiggle!

what turnbuckles did you use? this thing drives pretty good! if that small amount of play can get fixed I would love this car even more! for some reason my stock fzo2l chassis has less wiggle then my modified short chassis in the bell crank

I’m going with the YeahRacing steering kit. And see if I can use a turnbuckle or CF plate. Mainly because it has smaller ball cups and is a little cheaper than Kyosho. I didn’t notice horrible steering with stock steering but I really only drove truck 3 or 4 times before tearing it down to rebuild.

The turnbuckles I used were Xpress turnbuckles off of eBay. I made them up to exact stock size and with all the aluminum I’ve put on it made the front tires toe out quite a bit. I think the slop is in the stock rod just laying in a hole and friction slowing it down cause it’s only being pushed down to hold it in.

id have to measure them. I just subtracted cup length from plastic stock arm which I had to cut and drill deeper to work. But the YeahRacing steering servo has smaller ball cups I’m gonna use when I get it. The ball cups I used had to be shaved down.
