I get those but rarely, thankfully. I just don't answer any numbers I don't know. Ever. If ppl want to talk to me, they can leave a message at the beep. I know ppl who have been thru legit identity theft and all that too. I just can't believe we live in a world where ppl make a good living by scamming other ppl. Smh!

Yeah, they get kind of upset when I explain to them that I AM a Microsoft Certified Professional and that they are running a scam and are having their conversation recorded for legal action. They usually hang up about then. lol

Yah, the technicians who now have every password, bank account info, etc... Sad really.

Nice!

Too many people with computers just don't know what can happen on the internet. I once spent 13 hours using a remote access program cleaning viruses and malware out of someone's computer because he didn't spend $20 for anti-virus software. It was a nightmare trying to get online because of all the popups and redirects. Problem is, he's got infections again because he doesn't watch what he lets in with downloads.

Antivirus seems to be a 100% necessity. $20 vs 13 hours of aggravation! Blah! No thank you! I have put in my fair share of dealing with 'computer technicians' trying to get a relative's computer running right. I'm all set with doing that again. Esp if it could be avoided by spending $20!!! Here's a $20... Don't call me for help anymore! Lol!

5 or 6 years ago there was a guy in this building who would call me every time he had virus issues with his computer. He spent his time surfing free porn. It would usually take me a little over an hour to clean it out. Well, after the 3rd time I did it I insisted that he buy a virus protection program because if he didn't, and he called me again, I wanted him to hand me $50 before I walked in his door. I got $50 from him on 2 occasions.

Some ppl just don't get it. NOTHING is free. Not porn, not the ppl who remove it for you, not the ANTI VIRUS!!! Lol!

I usually play with these guys if I'm not being disturbed. I had one guy hang up when I asked him how this problem got past Microsoft's firewall while I'm on a secure computer in the police department. LOL

The guy today kept trying even after I told him I build computers and I know he's scamming me. I finally told him I've had him on the phone long enough to trace his number and have him arrested. Then I called him a low life scamming @sshole. He called me a MF and I told him his mother thanked me. :hehe:

Classic!

I am off for the night. Have a great evening everyone.

@Toke
I don't know yet what's included in your link, but this is the first time EVER that I have gotten an instant warning from my cable company regarding a clip.
The pop-up on the lower right is from my virus protection program, but now I have to contact Comcast to see what this is about.
Do not post any more links till I get to the bottom of this.

Do not worry that is common practice for websites that offer free services. I'm on my phone so there's no chance of viruses or malware. Like the other person said your protection will just be warming you about the pop up the video it self was safe

Looking at the link Avast blocked the virus was served to you from an advert on the page the video was hosted. This can happen on any site that doesn't properly control the adverts they're serving. There's a chance that @Toke didn't even get the download.

As for ringing the number in that horrible page it served, I'd recommend checking your phone bill to make sure you've not been charged premium rate.

For the point about Microsoft firewall, please remember that typically any firewall does not check for viruses and a separate engine is required for this.

Back on topic anyway I've managed to get the wheels going and the engine is practically broken in after around about ten tanks of fuel. I still had the foam insert inside the carb when I connected my air filter so that was not helping the situation and making it struggle to start.

It's amazing how responsive and the speed out of it with half throttle, I've yet to open it up fully due to lack of space but will be going a car park tomorrow and hopefully seeing the range and performance, the noise that comes out of it is unreal especially with wot it jus wants to scream!! The noise only increases when the body is placed due to it being constricted. Got a spare set of wheels on the way need to stock up on flow plugs but I think I'm pretty much there in terms of breaking the engine in won't tune the needles any more as I'm happy with it for now with how it's running

Awesome news! Congrats! Yeah, learn how to control at lower speeds etc... Think about that car doing 60mph or whatever that is in kph... And now it slamming into someone's shin! Also, with high speed kits, crashing can get expensive real quick. So take it easy and be smart. Also, don't forget to start doing an after run maintenance on your motor as well as a once over as far as loose screws (we are not included in that) etc... Awesome news!

Look at the screen shot I posted. The popup is on the bottom right and it's a warning from my anti-virus program. Meanwhile, my entire screen was covered with that blue page and warning. That's SERIOUS scareware and if wasn't blocked by my protection I'd be passing it on, also.
Unfortunately, too many people will call that number and PAY for their bogus repair.
Under NO circumstances will you post another video link here unless you PM it to me first for approval. I would suggest you host it on YouTube.

Seriously? Then how do you suppose it posted on my screen the instant I clicked your link? It is NOT common practice for free websites to spread viruses, it's the USERS who spread them. There's a reason I never use a P2P site for music or videos.

You are misinformed @Rolex, it is easy to pick up drive by malware from unscrupulous advertising on legitimate web pages.

It's much more likely than you making a video on your machine, it getting re-packaged with some kind of dropper all before you then upload it to a site.

As for malware on phones it's naive to think your phone couldn't easily be infected but usually there'd br more visible notification that something was requesting odd permissions to the device.

In any case, back on topic I'm glad you got it running in the end and that it was something simple.

@Rolex is paranoid for a good reason. Part of RC is good maintenance on your rig. It's the same thing with a computer or cellphone. You need to run a good antivirus program and malware blockers (As Rolex does and I do.) You are right about drive-by malware, but it isn't as frequent as you think.

Smartphones are also susceptible to malware and viruses, too so running a good antivirus/anti-malware suite is a must there, too. Not all smartphone malware needs to ask permission or show popups to activate (Stagefright is a good example).

image.jpeg image.jpeg Rearranged some decals and found some bits of polystyrene foam packing from some speakers I bought that will fit around the shell nicely, thinking of gluing them around the edges of the body then eventually buying plasterers tape/dry wall tape and shoe goo and coating it all, will this be a problem or will the temperatures not cause any trouble?

Also found an idea for an exhaust, two of the metal caps off clipper lights wrapped around each other, unsure how to attach it yet but think the kit looks great and would recommend to anyone.

Would look twice as better with some white or orange wheels, will probably paint the black ones orange when the tyres die but can you still use rims even if the tyres been glued on from factory?

I've got some gold pre glued tyres on the way aswell, also I still need to get myself a fuel filter, spare glow plugs and a two pong to three adapater for my hump pack to connect to my switch as at the moment I have to plug it straight into the reciever box? And the power is constantly on even with switch off. The bloke in the hobby shop said he can sort me a new switch that takes three pong and remove the other one for 5.99 which will save on buying adapters and extra cable to make this set up fit.

I like the way the exhaust looks. You may be able to save the wheels too although usually they are cheap enough to buy new... I do understand the issue with wanting to paint them. I have heard of a few ways to get tires off here and there but they all sounded a lil odd to me. Maybe someone has worked that out here?
As far as the body goes... I have reservations about doing anything that would make it heavier as that is the highest point and could certainly change the centre of gravity. It might not seem like much but while I'm watching ppl weight their cars with digital scales, changing the weight of the oil in the shocks, adding and subtracting, moving grand of weight here and there... Yes, I believe even the weight of the shoe goo can throw the car off. I personally wouldn't do anything to change the air flow that is getting under the body... The Styrofoam can and will melt if it gets too hot. May also react to fuel which sprays all over the place with the motor running right;). I haven't a clue how the shoe goo would react to heat or the fuel. That's my thoughts anyways.
The car looks killer. Glad to know it's working out. Also... DEF need to get a thermometer because you may need to put some holes in that shell so the motor doesn't overheat.

The receiver battery on everything I use has a 3 spot for wire plug with 2 wires in it. I don't know about anyone else or if That's a kyosho thing.

I will be adding a hole in the windscreen to assist in airflow and hopefully be able to fill up without taking the body off.

One thing that is a bug though is I thought the headlights where going to be buckets and able to mount some leds like the previous fiesta version could, will possibly add some strip lights under neath instead that I've had laying around from my car.

Maybe a second body to dress up? You may be able to find some kind of scale lighting that would work in it too. I'm not really into the scale building thing... It's cool and all, just don't have the time to put into that stuff. Before I did my sound and lighting work, I used to work on cars. I'm not sure I have the patients for that work either. I like loud pipes on big bikes, fast cars, nitro and rubber burning... Stuff that gives you arrhythmia when it passes you on the track doing 300 mph. :thumbs-up:
