Thanks Charlie. Mine aren't as pretty, but they'll work. And yes, the Baja is dirty. :D

I'd say they're perfect! I like the notched top on the windshield. I beat my head about airflow for awhile before I realized that we are basically running weed eaters and, "how much airflow does a weed eater get?" None the less, I had to leave that little spot for airflow. Now, do we tent or sticker? hmmm

Well, the good thing about weedeaters is they have a flywheel. This flywheel has fins on it that create a whirlpool of air. This air is forced through the cooling fins on the head via the shroud.

I don't know if your engines have the finned, flywheels or not. If they do have the finned flywheels, I see absolutely nothing in the picture's in the original post that would keep that engine from getting air.

I've worked on small engines for many years, i've also built car engines.

I would also like to add that i like what you did and think it looks really good.

That look just as soon or better than other window "kits" I've seen available.

Thanks Charlie, I was pretty stocked when I got them all mounted up. I've thought a lot about mine, and they're gonna stay clear for now, here's my thoughts on it. It's easier after a big hit to see inside the windows and make sure everything inside the cage is OK. I keep a spare sheet of lexan (it's on ly $4) and if I break a window I can just cut another one out since I recorded all my measurements for the bolt holes just in case (See, told you I learn from you guys.)

Awesome job and looks perfect, I say tint and sticker

I may change my mind, but for now they'll stay clear. I'm not opposed to some stickers though.

We have the finned fanwheel thing. Thanks BC, I appreciate it.

Why thank you Woodie. I'm sure they're not perfect if you look close enough, but they're gonna get scratched anyway. :hehe:

That looks really good. And your rig isn't dirty, it's well loved! Just remember that a clean Baja is the sign of a sick mind.....

Those look really nice.Heres an idea cut another set out now before you need them.On the shelf parts are nice to have.Just a thought.:D

Is there a functional purpose for these? Do they really help keep junk out like leaves and whatnot? I was looking at FFRC's set, but wasn't sure if they were for anything more than looks.

Yours look nice though. Makes me think about giving it a shot if they do any good.

Olds, you'll still get crap in there from the holes in the chassis. But what I have noticed, is that my air filter and carb area now stay much, much cleaner. IMHO they were well worth the effort, and there's more room for stickers now. :hehe:

I have screens and foam covering all the holes from the bottom and around the engine (mostly). Still get crap in from behind the clutch bell and in from the carb area.

Good to know though. Will have to see what my local hardware store has for hardware... or will just spend the $ and buy a set.
