Pics attached. From my quick research I think this is a King Motors Baja 5? Me and my boys are dipping our toes in since this was given to us. We got it started, got the remote sinced up and it seems to run good. Need a few odds and ends but looking for the basics of what exactly what I have here and the best source for parts?

Welcome to RCT!

I've never broken anyrhing on my own baja, but I heard a lot of parts are interchangeable. It's probably the most popular 5th scale platform👍🏻 King motors parts support is very minimal in the Netherlands, perhaps that's different in the US. I'd look at rovan sports then, which should mostly have the cheapest parts.
All the aluminum blings very nice, but it's very heavy and won't absorb impact by flexing. I'm sure the 30.5cc will pull it but a 5th scale aluminum collision will get very expensive.

Welcome in @psu927 , yes this is a Baja 5b and without a doubt this is a great looking rig and you scored if it was given to you. Fun rig to run and parts are super easy to find. Somebody put some love, sweat, and tears into this one.
Most parts are interchangeable between KM, Rovan and even HPI.
Here is two suppliers I use and both are the same company.
There is another manufacturer also but I can't remember who it is.

Fearless RC Rovan RC

The aluminum A-arms look great however I highly recommend
RPM RC for A-arms. Aluminum arms bend in a hard crash especially the Baa 5b because they are so heavy.
RPM arms will flex and return back to shape after a hard crash.
I hope this helps. I have two of them. One is a Rovan and the other is custom built.
I also recommend you upload a parts diagram because I have yet so see parts come
with a installation manual.

Great info, thanks! Can you confirm the fuel mixture ratio? I ran it on 50/1, but I thought I read somewhere it should be 30/1 so I only ran it a few minutes.

Off of the top of my head I honestly don't remember but I use this can
and fill the left side reservoir with the 2 cycle oil and the right side with gas.
It says the mixture on the can and I put each reservoir at the same level and then mix.

Fuel ratio can be a whole another discussion lol. Just don't mix regular 2 stroke oil meant for mowers etc, because they aren't designed to lubricate the engine for these exceptional high RPMs.
I always run motul 800 in a 25:1 ratio.

I can't use regular oil or I can't use the regular ratio used for lawn equipment?
Also do these typically have a fuel filter in the tank? This one does not

You want to be running high end stuff for high performance motors. Its not a lawnmower engine.
Use new containers with no grass clippings in. Use new funnels with fresh filters each time.
Keep the crap out of the tank to start with.

If you are unsure of mix, I'd go with a lower fuel/oil ratio. It might smoke, not run at peak but it will be well lubed and not burn a hole in your piston or rings.

Invest a little into this thing just from the start and you will get WAY better results.

Oil filter, air filter, replace it. Research, verify plug is correct, then buy a new one. Or 3.

I would pull the fuel tank and clean it out well and replace fuel lines too.

This is based on nitro and 1:1 experience though, I don't own THIS buggy.

Get some dirt bike oil, I use the Castor Maxima or Amsoil Saber at 50:1. People get mad when I say it. I know the manufacturer says 25:1 but thats a lot of oil. Even 40:1 is good. Just get a little plastic measuring cup that gives you ml, oz. etc. The bottle will tell you how much to use at what ratio (of your choosing) with one gallon of preferably ethanol free fuel. 91 octane or better but, there isn't a need for 100+ race gas.
You need what is called a fuel tank clunk, which is a filter that sits in the tank.
DDM Racing and Fearless RC are a couple good places to order from.
The Large Scale Forum is a good place to find more info. It isnt very active though, and I might be giving you the same answers over there too.

Got it running, seems to run fine although I can't tell for sure but it rips pretty decent. Hit a jump and stripped out the inside of the plastic spur gear so I guess I gotta order one. How hot should the clutch housing get? She seemed pretty hot but I'm sure that's to be expected.

Congrats! Nice job getting it running and driving!!!
You broke it already too!!!
You're IN the club now! 🤣
Do you have a temp gun?
The actual temp vs 'pretty hot' would prob get you better answers. I'm sure some amount of heat from friction is normal. 😎

The temp you wanna be concerned with is at the base of the head. You wanna be around low 200’s I think??
The clutch area will get hot due to the nature of how a clutch works.
Check out eastside RC on YouTube. He is a wealth of knowledge on these 5th scale rigs.
