I sold my 20 gig and got a Black Nano today.
Its small as hell. The 2 gig was all that was available but thats cool. 500 songs should hold me for a while. The color screen is east to see and the dial is large enough for my meat hooks.

I haven't had a chance to use the picture slide show yet. Its a small screen so I don't think its going to be all that good. The sound quality is the same as my 20 gig was but the transfer rate is much faster.

Congrats, one more for the Nano club. I was pissed that the sleeves won't be available for 3-4 weeks. I wonder why apple didn't have any accesories ready for its release? Other than the goofy looking lanyard earphones...

I'm getting a line of iPod products for my store. I'm not exactly sure what I ordered but I think there was some Nano stuff in it, if not, ill get some in.

I have ordered so much stuff to stock the stores for X-Mass I forgot what all I ordered.

What color skins are you looking for?

Wouldn't you know it, I finally get an iPod mini and they come out with something smaller with a color screen for about the same price.

I listed mine on Craigslist and it was gone in a matter of an hour or so.
The only drawback is 2 megs.

Something in black would be cool. I'd like to see the vaja line of cases for the nano, the 3G ipod cases were very nice.

Or I can just raid your shipment when it comes in hehe.

I ordered a lot of the Bilken and Griffin products as well as some off brand stuff. Ill let you know what comes in. Ill look to see if our distributors have Vaja line.

Sorry ST. You have to be fast. I would have rather seen you get it.

I looked at the Nano, but was wondering a couple things. Can you convert normal mp3's to work on it? I mean, is there any conversion to do? I aquired a bunch of mp3 files on my computer over the years and really would like to use them for a portable. i have used, or am using a RIO and a Iriver right now, but the nano looks much more user friendly. Also, will the normal ipod gadgets for car stereo's work with this one?

Hellll yeahhhhh... All you have to do is go to file, add file to library, go to the folder with the songs, select them and hit open.. they will go to your library and once you plug the ipod in, it transfers to it.

That's to bad, you should have waited a little longer. Everything I've read about the Nano's for the last week or two is that the screen is VERY easy to scratch. Apple is supposed to be correcting these soon, maybe then I'll consider buying one.

Only 1% of the production will have that problem and if you are so unlucky then simply return it back to the store and they will exchange it for you.

I have been using mine for a week plus, and I guess I am lucky enough that mine still doing great. Anyhoo, I bought a cover (something like a sock) to protect it while waiting the silicone tube to become available.

The only complaint I have is the earphone. Can they give us a better quality earpiece? Come on... after paying $249 + tax I am expecting a decent earphone! The unit itself is working flawlessly for me. I am shopping for Shure E4C for replacement or maybe Sony's earphones if I decided to go cheap.

I am not a iPod fan until I got this Pod Nano as gift. I guess I kinda like it now :)

Yeah, I feel your pain. I got the 6 gig mini for my Bday and at the time it was the smallest. I still love the thing, but the nano is supposed to be really cool. I have read the same thing Woodie has about the Nano's screen being scratched very easily. Other than that.... the thing is supposed to be top notch. Congrats Eddy!

Hey My Jeep, I was the same way when I got mine as a gift. I was not a huge fan, but now that I have it, I am starting to really love that thing. Especailly the wireless FM Transmitter by Monster. Makes the mini that much more portable. I too was disappointed with the quality of the ear phones. I went out and bought a pair of Sony's from Best Buy and man... what a difference.

My thoughts exactly!

what's the run time on a battery for these suckers??
My only complaint for most of these is the y only have like a 2-3hr (advertised) runtime....Usually get just over half the time they say it gets......the only time I use portable music isin car or bike ad I'll be on the bike for over 3 hrs sometimes.....

My finace and her folks have like 4 acres (Combined) of yard that I cut once a week. I am on the mower for over three hours and about 5 hours total time if you include the trimming, and my IPod mini is still running strong. I have never had a battery issue yet. I can't speak on the nano however.

Also for those people who want to use an mp3 player while using a mower, riding a motorcycle, or other activity, I have found good earphones. They are a bit pricey at $60-$90, but they reduce outside noise by 15-20 db. Shure E2c's. I use them on motorcycle trips as they fit perfectly under my helmet and are comfortable.

I have read the same thing. There are a lot of unhappy customers about the scratching issue. However from what I read Apple isn't fixing the scratching issue. There are reports that a very small perecentage of the Nano screens crack very easy. Apple has acknowledged that and are replacing them free of charge. Here is a link to a Slashdot article about the Nano screen issue.

I've heard of people returning the Nano because of how easily it scratches. I think that is complete crap. Apple isn't going to guarantee that the item is going to be scratch resistant. Apple has stated that the Nano is made from the same type of plastic as the other models.

Returning a product because of a scratch is about as dumb as trying to return a brand new car because some moron scratched it in the parking lot at the store. You will get laughed right off the car lot.

My :2cents:

I'm going to do a battery test today. Its been charging all night. Ill hook it to my boom box at the store today at 10:00 and see how long it will play. My 20 gig full size lasted 7 hours or so.

I went and got a good set of Sony earphones and never looked back. I didn't even open the ones that came with my unit. I got the ones that have an ear loop to keep them from pulling out. Its a great sounding set and work well if your active.

I cheeped out and only got the 2 gig. I also got a unit made by PAC that will add axuilery inputs to my stock car radio head. I was using the iTrip transmitter on my 20 gig. It was good quality but a direct connection is better.
