This is a great example on why you should always charge your LiPo batteries according to the instructions!!! This happened to a guy at my LHS this past sunday. He bought the pack that morning and a few hours later the batteries went up in flames about 10 seconds after it came out of his buggy. Please, be safe with your LiPos so this does not happen to you.
... I wish I would have gotten a video but I was too focused on how awesome the battery appeared as flamethrowers for a second.
we dont know, he was running fine and the pack wasn't even hot or anything. He brought it back to his station and it started to puff up and everyone was like you need to get it out right now!! so he got it out and placed it on the floor as we all watched on it both the packs just bursted into flames!! It was soo cool to watch, but smelt for the rest of the day. Everybody thinks it was just a bad pack, or he charged them wrong. Who knows???
It was a Team Orion 5100 mAh saddle pack battery. He took it back and the truck was sitting on the bench for a few minutes when he noticed it was puffing up. He took it out and it was just get more and more puffy so they just dropped it and everybody backed up until they got the fire extinguisher and some salt water to put it in. And I KNOW!! I was soo pissed I didnt get my phone out right away for some video!!
