You could use a strand of waterproof LEDs but youd have to hide them under something pointing down in order to get the proper effect
Maybe I could paint the floor of the stream green. My initial plans were beige floor with some of the gravel from our dirt piles sprinkled into the Plasti Dip. Then top that with loose river rock looking gravel. The gate at the end of the stream will keep anything heavy from falling into the reservoir. But I will still be using a filter anyway.

If this turns into a leaky mess I will just leave it a dry stream bed with some fake water pools. Then I will definitely make it look nasty.

Maybe pull some cotton and paint it green and brown, and have it hanging off the end of the pipe for that nasty mossy sludge look.
Just ordered Rit Green dye and more silicone.

Instead of putting the dye in the water which would get messy why not mix the green dye in with some sort of brushable silicone to make the silicone green and then line the bottom of the river bed with the silicone?

I am using the dye to dye some cotton. Not completely sure I want a green river yet. But I can make it look nasty with decor.

Think we have the same glue gun
Bud. Little pink gun is awesome
Nope! Mine is much wimpier 😁

But wait. Did you hot glue that metal piece on there for the stand? If so, that is manly right there!
Haha
Even better! That is a rare earth magnet to stick onto metal things, since that tiny gun won't freestand easily.

Oh, that is a wicked mod. Modded things can no longer be considered whimpy, or girly in any way 😉

So, you're saying that I no longer need to hot glue with little pinky, in secrecy any more?

Nope. That is a manly tool now. I'd be proud if it 😁
If interested, I used a lot of Woodland Scenic Water kits or this one on my model railroad. Sure safer than real water and it looked awesome.

Yeah, that's the backup plan. There will only be about a gallon of water in the resevoir. So even if things go wrong, it won't be too bad.

I think I have it sealed around the drain well enough. And I think the Plasti Dip will create a good enough seal. I plan to test it before I do any plaster work. And even if it does eventually fail, I can cut that portion of the diorama off and redo it easy enough (I hope).

I've always wanted to try that stuff. :) Maybe my course will give me a good excuse. 🤔

It works awesome. If you watch some video's on it, there is some pretty amazing stuff they can do with it.
I used the crystals mostly, melt it in a pot, use it, and reuse it as many times as you want.

Oh, we were talking about the sculptamold earlier in this thread I think.

What I have figured out to try is toilet paper in water. Stir it til the paper breaks down. Then add plaster. I am going to try Ultracal 30 plaster from Amazon. In fact, I just got the plaster in yesterday. Need to go test it out on some rock molds.
