One word down here...insurance. If you don't have it, you'd better move to Candida!! My mom has had her colen removed(Long story, don't ask), and for a 10 day stay in the hospital was 81 GRAND!! Our insurance has by far, paid for itself. Anyways, I have the XL Comp, and it's a good beginner. Its pretty fast once it's broken in, and it holds up pretty well agenst most crashes. The only problem I've had so far is the front shock tower, but that was my own stupidity. It's upgradable and Paul Colman Racing makes some nice Aluminum parts for it. The only downside is it IS discontinued, so in about 3 or 4 years, manufacturers will stop making parts for it, but by then I'll have something else.

Anyways, you can't go wrong with the XL Comp. There are alot better buggies out there, but as far as what I'm asking out of my buggy, it suits me perfectly(Backyard messing around pretty much!)!
