I recently had a old rc truck I believe 1:10 scale given to me I'm not sure what brand or model the truck is. I'm pretty new to rc stuff it has a Traxxas model 2020 2 channel am receiver 27 MHz with a 2015 Traxxas receiver.

Vintage Traxxas Stampede! That looks almost new!

Nice truck! That is a vintage Stampede there. Never seen one that old. I am not familiar with the older Traxxas stuff, but @STONER RC here might be able to give ya tips about it. I would be curious to know if there are replacement parts available for it before I bashed it too hard.

All parts are avaliable, some like the gears are steel now. May want to get a newer esc, and as mentioned 2.4ghz.

.....I would upgrade the tx/rx......
Here's a time proven, good quality transmitter and receiver, at a dirt cheap price. You can grow with this one, because you can put 10 different rc models on this radio, by just buying more receivers which only cost about $10 each.
With the new technology, you no longer have to worry about crystals and interferences with other nearby radios.

Welcome to the mad house man..

Wow that's a vintage classic Traxxas stampede hence the name on the hood of body.. question is is it a original from 94. If so I wouldn't bash it
Traxxas stampede was released in 94. And it looks that old with the MHz radio. And heat sink. Above the motor. I personally would make that a shelf queen. I'm rebuilding a few RC's from the 80's and 90's right now couple RC10 buggy and truck. Also a kyosho pro xrt truck and a few tamiya blackfoot grass horn.. and it's not fun trying to find parts for that era... and if you do the prices make you sick... knowing I would have paid 5 - 10 dollars for that same part back then..

Make it a shelf queen and buy a modern Stampede, they are basically identical. Brushed Brushless

Heat sink above the motor, and a radio replaced by long antenna am pistol grip, Id say your right about age. Parts are plentiful but era correct parts ie 2.2 wheels, old body, rebuildable brushed motor etc are the hard to get parts. Once gone, always gone.

It does, you can see the ceramic resistor block. Also, the Traxxas 2wd designs haven't really changed over the years, mainly the bodies, colors, and materials.

The stampede then and now are night and day.
Concept yea basically but not design. They were slugs back then and like bricks on wheels hahaha
