have fun with it jesse. and with the $20 you saved on shipping, go buy a failsafe for it. no more first run nightmares please.

yup, go get a fail safe. Most people have an Ofna one.

I just love stadium trucks and missed my electric after giving it to my son. I can't wait to drive the nitro one.

Once you go nitro, you never go back. Once you smell and hear that engine, your hooked.

what?? i just stated that he is using a line that he did not make up.

Jesse: while you're waiting, I KNOW you'll be asking. :D (Sorry, didn't follow the link, totally beat here.)

If it's got dogbones, MIP CVD's. This is a must, if you get nothing else (besides the failsafe) get these.

MIP 4-in-1 clutch

At least two spare spurs

When it comes to the GT, the Motorsaver is the perfect filter.

A 10-pack of flanged clutch bearings, and at least two new clutch nuts. Once the clutch nut starts to wear even just a little, the bushings/bearings will blow and you'll throw e-clips all the time.

Spare clutch e-clips. :D

Ofna throttle linkage. The plastic parts of the Ofna lnkage are a 10x improvement over that little aluminum pill thingy. This kit only comes with one rod, pick up a spare brake rod so you can install everything new.

Aluminum servo horns are awesome, or even the stock Ofna one is better than that piggy-back thing AE has goin' on. :D

89 oz/in steering, at least .15 or faster throttle, servos.

Wife and I love our GT's, beat 'em up again this weekend.

good tips Bill, id just recommend a different air filter than the motorsaver.

reasons are the same as any motor saver filter:
the lid can come off and leave your motor unprotected,
if there is too much oil and or dirt in the element, the suction can collapse the filter and allow dirt in underneith it,
the outer element is pointless since the end of the filter is left exposed

I'll stand behind DRF on this one. Looking at the pic you can only see a small portion of the cooling head, but it's a dead giveaway. I had a GT RTR for a few years and that cooling head looks like no other.
If you're looking for the pullstart, it's this one:
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAYY7&P=7

And yes, it will easily outrun your Maxx. So no wrecking it. AND NO HURLING!
It is a .15 I emailed the seller and he told me :). I will get a fail safe for sure! lol I dont want to hurl lmao! thanks for the link to the pull start also :)

yea, ... i didnt say I made it up. And also, whats the matter? Its not like thats an offensive sentance. I like that saying, so I say it. Get it?

JESEE G, you dont need all of the stuff that rocknbil told you...It is just a very good idea. Becuase these gears can get eaten up pretty fast.

^ ^ Oh you need CVD's. No doubt about it. Yeah, everything else . . . you will WANT to get. :D

But . . . you didn't recommend one? :D

Anyway, all ears.

I'm not sure we're talking about the same filter. Neither of ours motor savers have any outer filters, and the lids are hard as hell to get off as it is. I like them because they're pretty thorough and you can tell when the soil is beginning to penetrate the elements. Never seen one collapse, interesting . . . This could be solved by putting a solid wafer for the first element instead of the ring.

If you want doughnuts and power slides, come on over when i slap a bigger engine on my GT.... :devious:

that would work. It doesn't come with a one way bearing though.

One Way Bearing Sold Separately

Also, I guess if the previous owner of your car had a pullstart on and it worked fine... once you get that bearing it should be good. (Some engines have to be converted to pullstart)

Yeah jesse, thats the one. All i can say is i have never broken one of those. They hold up for quite some time.
