I bought a short course truck... A really big one!

These trucks from my knowledge have a Zenoah 32cc engine if it were me i would run the truck for awhile as is. If i get mine someday i'll be keeping the stock gas engine for awhile until i could save up enough to convert it to Electric with a Max 4 and a 70125 560kv 12s brushless combo. But that's just me.
If you want electric, Rovan makes the LT fully electric out of the box. Its about $1200-1300 or so. It just doesn't make sense to spend that on the losi, only to drop another $500 in electronics. Thunder RC on YT has one and it looks legit.
As for the 32 zenoah, they are really good motors, they rev up alot faster than my 38cc 30degree engine. Put a nice pipe on that 32 and give er the onions.

Did the truck come with a 32 or a 29cc? If it has a 32cc I would just run it a bit and get a 34cc top end kit if you decide it needs more.
It comes with a 32cc. I've already picked up a Bartolone pipe for it. I have a complete ESP 34cc modded/ported engine in my Vekta.5 and I love it. That's what makes me want to pick up the top end kit for the Losi.

The plan is to space it out over a few months so I'm not spending up front.

I see your point, But i would want the real Losi truck for me anyways i've learned not to trust off brands but that's just me i also like the way the Losi body looks more.

If Thunder recommends it, it is legit. Have you seen his channel? He "tests" his RC's...
The truck/chassis itself is a well-built clone, the clone engines are what I wouldn't trust 100%. My 30degree truck is a tank, the engine is kind of a slug the first few seconds of take-off, and that could be clutch spring selection or the tires simply fighting for traction, or even clutch fighting for grip. The Losi truck isnt as top notch as we are all led to believe. It is the name you are paying for.
In the end all of these things are made in Thailand or China, and they all copy each other. Some do it better than others obviously.

I watched some of thunder's videos in the past i just want the real truck and i saw the electric clone and i feel i would be better off building my own out of a 30 North vs the Rovan electric one. Although i might consider just sticking to my X-Maxx and Outcast 8s EXB since they're quite a bit cheaper on parts and i could my make Outcast 12s for cheaper than a 5T or one of it's clones.

Thunder RC overhypes everything. He made the Kraken Vesla look like a tank, when in reality, the design sucks! You have to put $500+ in upgrades just to not break it from an accidental crash. Their plastic seems to be made of glass!

He probably did dump a ton into it. He's usually honest about what he breaks though.
I'm just sayin, the new electric Rovan LT is a better bargain all around than buying a gas Losi just to drop another wad of cash into making it electronic. Most people have to design and print battery holders and other stuff to make it better than what they can buy (electric conversion kits). I have read all about this on the LSF. I have considered going down this road.
I have read all about the Kraken stuff on the LSF too, it is what it is, and I wish they were better.
For now enjoy the truck, upgrade your filter pretty soon too. The stock one apparently starts leaking with some time.
