Well it’s my 4th drive axles on my Taylor 46 VESLA , I’m running the bpr super spikes wich may be to blame , I’m wondering if there’s better quality drive shafts out there somewhere , my biggest concern here is the fact that I’m building a VESLA with a Taylor 71 and wondering where alllllll that power is gunna go , anybody know of any options ?

The Kraken stuff looks awesome, but I am so thankful I didn't go down into that money pit.
I have zero suggestions other than NOT building a Vesla with a Taylor 71 if you snap axles with a 46. Check the Large Scale Forum. There are a few guys over there that have built up some Veslas.
Kraken seems to need upgrades from the start, for what they cost they really shouldn't.

There is a definite reason why I sold my Vesla after I bought it and put way too much money into it for it to still be a poorly designed RC. NOT WORTH IT. There are way better platforms out there!

I’ve watched several videos , d.c.r.r. Guys and meyers garage , they run 71’s all day in veslas, I’m pretty sure it’s the tall wide bpr super spikes that are to blame I have the axle replaced I’ll be taking it out tomorrow with the smaller spikes , guys in these videos have the smaller tires, we shall see I’ve run the 46 several times the big bore tranny parts are holding up great I’ve been in this addiction for 30 years and I’m completely amazed by the VESLA and my losi 5t Taylor 50 right now also just plain great products when put together correctly the advances in the hobby these days are just unbelievable

🤷‍♂️

I have the vekta 12s I believe my 46 is about the same as the 12s system but I haven’t timed or gps anything

When I built my Vesla kit, it came with mis-machined drive axles. I had to contact Kraken to get a new set sent to me. They have definitely had some mishaps with bad machining on some parts including ring gears. It might be worth contacting them due to the possibility of a bad batch of drive shafts. As far as aftermarket, I am unaware of anyone who makes them. If it were a Baja, you could go with FLM, maybe they will branch into Vesla parts eventually.

Taylor rc got involved in correcting some of krakens mistakes Mike advised me to not say anything but that was last year , they definitely have great replacements I’ve had a pretty good go round with one of there guys absolutely ridiculous what happened but I love all there platforms. I’ve gotten good at putting the upgrades where they are needed , but this 71 build is pushing me to the limits in alot of ways but it’s getting exciting

Kraken definitely has some flaws, but their customer service has been phenomenal for me. A few years ago I built my first 1/5 kit, which was a Vekta.5. The ring gear in the diffs were giving me trouble. I emailed back and forth with Kraken and they had me mail it to them. Turns out they were machined wrong from the factory. My Vesla kit had bad driveshafts and they took care of it right away. I did not care for the Vesla platform, but I absolutely love driving and wrenching on my Vekta. There is nothing like watching that thing fly with those giant Maxxis Trepador tires. My only regret with Kraken... I was about to pull the trigger on getting the Trophy Truck kit and they discontinued all kits. I hope at some point in the future they at least do a short run with kits. I would love to build the trophy truck!

I forgot to ask. Are you running a slipper delete or actually using the slipper? It might be worth loosening it just a tad and seeing if that helps. You may loose slight power, but it might save your drivetrain.

I’m driving it today with the smaller spiked tires I really believe that they are the problem, I noticed the dirt guys none of them use the big spikes waaaaay to much grip , I have the slipper eliminated I’m running the only thing that can handle big block power and big block tranny and gearing , I got one of the last trophy truck kits and it’s been a long road getting the 12s system dialed in but now that thing just rules our track on sundays no more rolling in the corners just can’t believe that thing

Ya , that new castle stuff is some very good quality , one of our drivers is putting it in his vekta he already has 12s but he’s switching it out next week , I have a 12s vekta so we shall see what’s up with the castle next week

Well,,,,,,,,,,,oooooboyeeeeeee,,,,,, got to the track started the 46 warmed it up took off and blew the clutch , so waiting on parts before I can test the axle snapping thing
