I have about 400 decent sized logs and I’m going to get a rock crawler soon so how would i build a crawler track
(I’m open to building stuff to and I want to go all out on it)

Plenty of stuff on YouTube to give you ideas. I know you're deciding between an Everest and SCX24. I can tell you're leaning towards a 1/10, but you simply don't have the budget to turn a stock 1/10 into a capable crawler. For the price of the Everest, you could easily modify an SCX24 into an outstanding crawler.
Back on subject. It is significantly easier to build a great 1/24 course than an ok 1/10 course. Post pics of the layout of these logs and perhaps members can suggest ideas. Also, are you able to move these logs around?

Imagination has no limits, go for it. I'm a guitar player and I tell other players who say they want to learn a song exactly how the original is played.
How boring would that be if every single cover was identical to the original?
I personally would want something nobody else has on my course. Have fun with it and again, go for it. ;)

Not mine, a pic I had for a long time. All the same, just smaller items.
I would go larger scale if money allows. I take mine for walks and look for places to crawl.

If you go smaller, look up model train setups on youtube. Might get an idea or two.

Rope bridges, teetering bridges, log bridges, etc would make fun obstacles. The log bridges can be uneven so it tips the truck to one side. Make obstacles that are extremely had to climb over, like really steep rock faces. Tunnels, or paths under bridges are really cool too.

Yes they are like 2 inch to 6 inch thick not heavy at all I’ll be home in like 20 minutes when I get home I’ll take some pics

Oh. When you said decent sized logs, I was thinking over 12".
Well yes I do have some like that but 75% of it it’s 2 or 6 inches

My local hobby shop ( wreckless hobbies ) has a nice crawler track but I can’t always go there and it’s like $5 a day to do any tracks and I don’t always have a way to get there
Here what I’m working with I can cut some of these so make a bridge (that has gaps) here’s where I would like to build it I can clear the brush out

Here's the scale thing to consider again. A 1/10 will run through that log pile in probably less than 30sec. A 1/24 will probably take about 2min or more.

The pic I posted appears to be an rc or rc and mx track.

Google earth the address.

Wow. I want to live there. Do you think they would notice an RV parked there? 😜

I wonder if they will notice 2? Better yet, we can park our rvs across the street at Trailer Town. 🤣🤣
Hell, we don't even need RV's. We could live in a brand new trailer every night. We just need some long heavy duty extension cords to power our chargers 😜

Oh heck yeah, you've got lots of great raw materials and space to use them. You should be able to get a nice course set up.
If I were in your situation I would wait until I had my rig to work on the course. In the mean time I would start sketching up plans and making notes.

You don't want your course to be too easy or you will get bored quickly. But too hard and you will get frustrated. Try to pick some ideas that you really like then see how you can mesh them all together to make a challenging but fun course. Make it so you can change it up occasionally.

Ok yeah i think I’ll get either a crawler or drift car 1/10 for my bday then I’ll save up for the other one

Remember, it's best not to rush. Enjoy the hobby and the cars/trucks you have. There will always be something you want and that's good, but you don't have to have it all at once. Don't let your hobby become shopping! 🤣

Years ago when I built a course in my friends back lot, we ended up going up to a developing area near the mountains edge, near new home construction, and looking at piles of rocks the backhoes would dig up for the house foundations and loading up a truck full a few times. That was a goldmine of rocks.

After that we random dumped them, and as we crawled A to B, we arranged the rocks in the best fashion for a challenging course!
