After a couple tanks of trying to tune what I thought was a dieing engine I think my throttle servo is dead. I'm new to nitro so bear with me. The truck was running great a few days ago, but after putting it away and pulling it back out it suddenly will barely run. It (3 week old Revo 3.3) starts and idles fine, but as soon as give it gas and try to accelerate things go weird. The truck takes off with normal pep and speed for barely a second before what I thought was leaning out and coasting at an idle speed. If I held the throttle the truck would occasionally and sporadically spool up for a second or two before cutting back to idle. I tried tuning it out, making it more rich to where it bogged on idle and then leaning to where I was uncomfortable but nothing helped. My brake seems to work fine (but it would be hard to tell if it was pulsing on and off really quickly). So basically I'm wondering if servos die completely all at once or lose their strength and jitter around for a while.

So I pulled it out to replace it, and it turns out the wires had broken off where they solder to the little chip. Anyone have a picture of what order they go back on? I guess it would be the same as the steering servo?
one of my servos has decided to randomly stop working, when i took it apart the main moden cog will spin by its self if i help it start but then i out any tention on it it will just stop straight away and when i move the throttle on the controler it doesn't do anything! so servos a little F**kers! haha

So I managed to solder the throttle servo back together and it works perfectly again. The only problem was that I took appart my steering servo to check how the wires attach and in doing so my steering servo won't work. I took all the little gears off, and am nearly sure they're put back together right, but when I plug it in the servo just jams and does nothing. If I take all of the gears off and plug it in the main drive gear just spins like crazy without me touching anything. Radio commands do nothing, and ideas?

Uh, yes.
You put it together wrong. There are specific travel distances and stops with in the setup. You need to find an exploded view of that servo and reinstall all the gears and parts in the proper order and position.

Sounds like you accidentally nudged the potentiometer that helps center the servo. It has to be set perfectly or the servo will just keep spinning. I forget exactly how to adjust it but I'm sure it's out there... gimme a sec to look for it.

Thanks for the link, I'll get to it tomorrow. Shoulder surgery means no work, no car, no responsibility, and more than enough time to play.
Luckily a friend has an old revo 2.5 that isn't running and has been left at my house... Having a parts car is quite handy. At this rate I'll be handing him back a chassis and handful of bolts.

and that is why my rigs arnt left were anybody can touch them without me cing
when I'm finished running my rigs they are cleaned and put back in the box and back in my room away from visitors and people that think its fun to tinker with them and not know what they are doing

Well servo is fixed thank you very much! Now back to my LHS to return the micro servo (for the old revo's with a reverse) they sold me as a throttle and brake servo. Maybe I should be picking up replacement A-arms for my friends truck... but considering he last ran it 2 years ago with no air filter around a dusty bmx track, it may just be staying with me. Thanks for all the help

You see, servos usually die when placed in a Savage or a LST, or any truck that has the burden to try to keep up with a Revo on the track. You see, trying to equal the Revo's superb handling ability, owners of less capable trucks are slated to install more powerfull servos to keep up with the revo. The servos are often overworked, or hate being so far behind that they decide to kill themselves.

I don't need to try and keep up with your Revo. Me and my trusty LST (with massive DUAL JR servos) just need to wait for you to come around the corner. I drive right over you and problem solved. Yeah, and jut TRY to run over me. Ain't gonna happen. You would be on your lid trying.
