I'm a beginner in 1/8 nitro buggy racing, local track has lots of big jumps, which i mostly dont land properly therefore i hit the chassis hard. I have broken the engine mounts 3 times in a year, ordered an upgrade now but I'm not sure it will hold. I also stripped a couple of clutch bells.

I'm thinking of installing an aluminium rear chassis brace to avoid the above. My only concern now is, will i now bend the chassis? since i will remove almost all flex and pin point the stresses at where the alu. brace is fixed on the chassis?

Btw my buggy is the HB Racing D8 WS

Not sure if the brace will help your bad landings. That is what I would focus on.

Spend more time practicing.

Maybe your rear shocks could use rebuild, different springs might help.

Are you using locktite on your hardware? That is a must with nitro!!!
Are you using 12.9 hardware? Thats the toughest hardware you can (and should) install.

The upgraded engine mount sounds like a good idea.👍

The brace might help but it can effect handling too.

I know handling will be affected, i think i will give it a try and see, if i bend the chassis, i already jave an extra one, if it handles really bad i will try to balance it out with setup adjustments, i can always replace it with the plastic one.
