EBuggy vs electric converted nitro buggy

I'm not sure about "conversions", but when you compare the lap times for Nitro vs. Electric, there is little difference. For example, in the A-mains in the last race at StL Dirtburners the fastest lap in NB was 25.746 seconds, fastest EB lap was 25.877 seconds.

If good weight balance can be achieved, if the motor mount wasn't made from recycled, still rusted angle iron, if no hacksaw was involved in 'relieving' the chassis of motor space... a conversion can be great!
I have seen some hack jobs over the years.
I cringe when I see a 4s battery duct taped to the side of a chassis that has gaping spaces where the fuel tank and battery box used to go...

To each his own. I'm glad that someone is happy learning RC! Converting from nitro requires some wrenching. Thats good for everyone to know!

Also tho, I love nitro, I hate to see them die, disappear, get hacked or demolished.

I think there are no shortage of cheap, used electric buggies needing a resto to make them great again. Not a need to convert a nitro Revo if there is an eRevo for sale too.

Agreed - there's something "special" about (successfully) running Nitro that creates a challenge that just isn't there with Electric (IMO).

Why not get it running as a Nitro, first?
