I didn't notice it before. Hoo wee. That's quite the launch! ;) 😁 👍

Yep - I'm 5'11", so a good twelve+ feet "AGL"?... I don't "triple" those far-right jumps (I double/single), because I've seen too many cars break on the landing, but they're probably jumping 50 feet from the ramp to the landing. One of my buddies said he broke the rear shock mount (gearbox) on both his EB and NB (on the same day) trying to triple it. I've successfully tripled it w/both NB & EB, but the risk is too great for little reward (1/2 second?). That shot was on that triple....

Thanks,

5/29/26 "Friday Night Madness". Arrived at track 1700 - 79F, overcast, light sprinkles, but didn't set up the Canopy. Only brought NB, EB still needs a new ESC and I kind of like only running one class. Ran one tank of fuel during practice - 16 laps in 9:48; I liked the tune but track was dry/slick. Started Quals at 1900 (after watering the track).

Q1 - DNS. Glow Plug burned out, swapped it for a new P3 back in pit and it fired right up.
Q2 - DNS. Engine fired right up, but then the Throttle control Ring on the Carb slider came off! A little loctite on the setscrew and "fixed".
A-main (only three of us left in B-main, so they bumped all of us up) - Fastest lap 35.281 Sec., 23 laps in 15:19.380. Had many "oopsies" and spent way too much time awaiting turn marshal assistance!

Left the track at 23:15, home at midnight.

That was the last race on this layout, next race will be in a couple weeks....

Sounds like it was a tough night.
Nah, stuff happens. When it happened again in Q2, RD told me he'd let me run in NB heat 2/2 if I got it fixed in time, and I told him thanks, but I'll sit Q2 out so I can take my turn as Turn Marshal. I actually got it fixed right about the time he called for TMs for heat 2 - "oh, yea that's me"! I would have "qualified for" the B-main, anyway, but would have liked the track time. At least I made it through the main without any flame-outs/buggy problems. I'm going to put a 4-way wrench and spare glow-plug in my pit bag in case that happens again (a quick fix). Live and learn!...

Thanks,

Quick update - next weekend is the three-day ProLine Challenge (practice Friday, quals Sat. Mains Sunday. My buddy and I can't make practice on Friday because we're attending my father's Memorial Service. We were going to practice after work on Wednesday, but they finished the track build yesterday, so we went today. Charged Rx, igniter, and starter-box batteries and left the house at Noon, got there 1300. Noticed a screw missing on the steering plate (center rear, goes to brace/steering servo mount), tried another screw, but stripped/broken. Running anyway! Got about a tank in (ran great) and steering became intermittent (servo failure) - glad I found it now instead of the middle of the first Qual! Parts should be here Thursday.

Did manage to get 3 or 4 clean laps before I had to get down out of the driver's stand/off-course, but the lanes seemed "narrow" to me, and I ran a lot of jumps into the pipes. They posted a pic of the new layout on FB - my buddy described it as "more of a Road Course with Bumps", and not much opportunity for "Big Air". At least I got a taste?...

Correction - "Pro-Line" (Edited).

Front brace/servo mount and new servo finally arrived yesterday, and I didn't think it would take long to swap out (wrong). Ended up watching the US World Cup game and started on the repair at 2200 hrs. Much more involved than I first thought, I didn't finish until midnight! Charge Rx pack til 0200, first starter box pack 0200-0400, second starter battery 0400-0530. Pack everything up, left at 0630, arrived at track 0715. Burned a couple tanks of fuel practicing (untimed), Quals started at 1000 with rain threatening and coming down pretty hard when they put out the red flag after the 9th heat (out of 13). It rained for a couple more hours and they decided there was no way that they could complete the race this weekend, so they canceled and re-scheduled for the weekend of July 11th. :(

I was in Sportsmans NB class, the 12th heat, so I didn't get to run, but I did have some good eats and won the 50/50 drawing! :D
