Well, i bought the XTM 21 conversion. It will include all parts needed. Now that i go back to the site, they actually have 2 different brands XTM and Dynamite. I've heard that the dynamite is better. Although, the XTM is $30 cheaper and includes cvd parts for the old and new length arms.

Here's the link for the XTM: http://store.yahoo.com/hobby-warehouse/xtmtmax21alc2.html

I had a few issues mounting things onto the chassis, the only constant annoyance with this kit is the placement of the motor mount bolts. They run into the rear center cvd. You actually have to bend the cvd to get a hexdriver into the nut to loosen or tighten it. When it's tight, it's fine. It's just a pain to get it to that point.

Personally, i use the O.S. 21rg-x(p). It's kind of weak, but it doesn't tear up diffs and transmissions as bad as higher output engines, but it still gets the job done considerably well. I pull standing wheelies at will and run about 220 degrees. I'm on my 3rd gallon with this engine.

If you get the XTM kit, make sure to locktite the cvd grub screws really well. I have lost 2 of the pins due to this.

Msly has a NIP RC Limited .21 conversion kit for sale cheap. You might want to send him a PM & tell him Imbroken sent ya...
You will need an engine & pipe. I recommend the OFNA Hyper 8 port w/Dynamite 1/8th scale pipe & header. I'm also running a GA Al. clutch shoe/flywheel setup. Good Luck...

There is nothing cheap about bring a Maxx up to be able to handle a 21 or larger. As you'll need diff and tranny upgrades along with the chassis and cvds.

You will need quite a bit of upgrades to do the project. So far I've completed 2 with a 3rd in the works. Some of your existing parts will work and others will not fit or will not last long.

You have a wide array of aftermarket parts manufactures to choose from. First you had better come up with an amount that you are willing to spend. My first time budget was $2,000 and I blew past that fast. It's all of the little things that you don't consider at first. The second one I made fewer mistakes and watched the prices closely and the third is a basher of new and good used chassis parts. The only stock parts that I have left on mine are the tranny, battery, reciever cases and a few other misc. parts.

Chassis:
Hardcore
RC Lmt
JT
UE
XTM
Dynamite
and there are more

Engines:
Sirio
RB
OS
Picco, ofna, orion
and there are more

I personally have the Sirio 27 and 2 Ofna/Picco 26's. Both are very good mills but the Sirio has more power.
The least expensive way that I have found was the Dynamite kit and the Ofna/picco or the Orion/Picco .26 mills.
You can pick up the Dynamite chassis kit for $149 it includes most of what you will need for the conversion. You will still need to replace the trans gears with steel or aluminum RRP's, $50.00. Then you will have to rebuild the front/rear diffs and shim them. On a budget you can do it for $200+ or you can shim them properly and wait for them to break. The Picco mills depending on the one will run you $110-180 range.

There are several members in this forum with a lot of knowlege in the area. Use you search tool and you will get many results.
Good luck.
