Haven't had time for anything this year. Just too much going on and got myself kinda spread thin.
Taking my kid to work yesterday, already got my work duds on and I remember the Summersville fly-in was about this time of the year. Called the 'ol lady and sure 'nuff, this weekend. I just went home, got into my best jeans and t-shirt and went.

Had a great time. Beautiful day, some great people. Here are a few pics.

2-cyl gas engine on this, man it was huge.

Cockpit detail on this was unreal. A real turbine in it.

Few of the flight line.

Real turbine in this one too.

Best part of the day.
A P-51 fly by.

Guy is from Lewisburg, WV. Spent several years gathering up parts and putting this amazing aircrart together. http://www.airventure.org/2008/news/QuickSilver.pdf He came out and measured the field to see if he could land. Not enough room, but the plane was awesome.

Can't help it... One of my favorite aircraft. It was beautiful!

Should see it close up. Wish the pics were a little better. He even had maps in there.

Thanks for the pictures, digger. I can't WAIT to learn how to fly! I just bought a sim, and after tearing up around 100,000 worth of virtual plane dollars, I'll start the tally of real plane dollars lol.

I don't know, I bought the Real Flight G2 simulator really cheap from a member. I'm getting started with it, and if I take to it like I'm hoping I will, I'll be buying the Realflight G4 simulator. I think it would be hard to have a free online sim that's very realistic because you would have to have a transmitter somehow.

There's one called FMS. Coupled with a transmitter that has a trainer jack (like the Venoms' transmitter), and an adapter to connect to USB, that'd be a great learning tool.
