in order to make a electric go as fast as a nitro, u would have to dump a ton of cash in it. there is no comparison to nitro and electric... no smell.. no sound....

Ya know, I've noticed that it's a bad idea to bash on any one elses stuff in here. It really up's the post count to a thread though!
I am totally sorry for creating this thread a year ago. It was a right out of the box rs-4 mt with a piece of turd motor in it. After my novak brushless was installed I was humbled.

EP, sorry if you have talked about it somewhere else, but how is the novak? I have heard they are awesome. You put it in the rs4? I am thinking about getting a novac or hacker for my 1/10 truck.

If I pull them back they wind up and go! If I pull back too far, the rubber bands snap.

back to the topic at hand....

I seen the hacker setup run on an Emaxx last year and was FLOOOOORED at how damn fast and how much low end that thing had. Never knew it....

Yeah, one Hacker C50 is about as fast as a healthy .21 nitro, for about 5 minutes. We made a double hacker powered Cybermaxx for RCX last year, and it was sick. We radared it at 55 mph its first time out. Then Del tapped the brakes and it went into a 50 yard long cartwheel!

The novak brushless is awesome. i have to send mine back due to a defect where it just turned off and wont go back on at all for no real reason, but its under waranty

yes for me the sound, smell, and the fact that i am tuning/running a small internal combustion engine is 90% of the reason i like nitro, and plus generally a nitro setup has more that can be tinkerd with, for ones who like to wrench. even if i had an electric brushless/lipoly whatever setup that can run for 1 hour at 50 mph it still is missing the key attributes that makes nitro so attractive to me.

not a bad point, but when you drive in small areas a lot of the time and there are always people around, sometimes it is cool to have an electric, my nitros are still my favorites, but my tc3 is still a real blast to drive

I have both, each have their ups and downs. Electric is much more maintenance intensive (anyone who says otherwise has never races mod) but nitros are a lot messier. Electric runs everytime you put batteries in it and is a blast to race and nitro makes a lot of noise, runs as long as you have gas, and draws a crowd.

El Pirata,

how is the belt driven idea on the rs4 mt? do you ever have trouble with stuff getting caught in them? when people use belts instead of shaft driven i hear them saying you gotta watch out for rocks getting caught in the belts. is it a problem at all with the rs4 mt? do you personally like that it uses belts?
