Can anyone just confirm something for me? I've been seeing all these electric RC's with brake rotors and calipers. They are all just for looks correct? Do any of them actually function?

The traxxas sand rail and some 1/5 scale is real working brakes. The smaller scales is to help your ocd with scale looks. Some rc motorcycles too have working disc's and calipers.

Here is some. All notro rc have working brakes like you ask. They are servo controlled and mounted on the tranny.

Show us an example of what you're seeing and it would help to identify whether they're functional or not.

If they're on the hubs, behind the wheels, 99.9% they're for looks. If they're around the center diff it's probably an Arrma "handbrake" or some kind of nitro conversion.

Edit: Large scale on roads can have 1:1-like brake setups, forgot about that!
