I have been wondering lately if there is better longer lasting batteries for my dx2.0 then the rechargeable AA energizer ones that I have been using?

What AA rechargeable batteries do you use?
Mine work fine but don't last very long at all!

Sorry for the shortness of my message gotta run thanks!!

Oh and my batteries are 2300mAH and 2500mAH..(4 of each didn't notice until I opened them..)

2500Mah is about the best your going to find. I'd suggest replacing the 4 2300 with 2500. Mixing capacities makes for bad charging.

What are you charging with?

I used to use a wall charger that put out around 150mah. Then I fashioned a receiver pack end so I could use my 1 amp charger. I found that using the dynamite 1-3A charger set on one charges it up more quickly, but they don't last as long. I have 2400Mah NiMH AA's. Can't remember the brand...

I recently bought a used charger off a guy here (or at another forum) that allows me to change the charge current in .5 increments. So I've been charging at .5 amp (1/2 amp) and it seems to be holding the charge better. The only thing that stinks about the charger is that it resets to 3A charge current everytime I unplug it...

Thanks for the info! I use a charger that charges 4 at a time.. its the one that came with one of the packs just a energizer thing.. thanks for the link as well!!

Oh wait.. I just looked at the link how do you go about charging AA with that charger?
I guess you buy rack to hold them all?
I plan on buying a duratrax ice or a triton can these still charge AA?

Thanks again!

most of these modern TXs have charge jacks. you keep the batteries in... and just plug the TX in.

Oh ok thanks guys! you know now that I think of it mine does have a charge jack I can use the Jr cord of some sort.. the charge jack uses a wall plug to charge with so I can cut that off and use a standard plug and hook it up to my charger right? probably not.. its never that simple! thanks for both of you guys help!

I wired a receiver pigtail into my radio itself.

Oh ok thanks! I misunderstood your first post sorry! that cleared it all up!

probably not.. its never that simple!

I was just reading the manual and it says only use the charge jack if I'm using NI-CD batteries.. I planned on using Ni-MN is that ok?

with my old DX3, i used Recharable Duracell 2500 Mah cells. worked Gr8 and lasted a long time.

now that i have the React, i use the very same cells i used in my specky, but have 2 packs instead of one. specky uses 8 cells, the React only 4.

Charging it with the wall charger is fine, but you have to keep an eye on it. Ni-Cad cells aren't as prone to heat damage as NiMH cells. If you have a temp gauge, use it. When my 2400Mah AA cells get around 95F, I unplug.

I used the same radio shack 1800NiMH cells for 5 years in my remote charging them until they hit 95F. I just recently upgraded to the 2400NiMH cells.

For the first charge or two, keep a close eye on them and if your radio has it, check the voltage when the cells get around 95F. Then in the future, you can just watch for the voltage to peak. The first charge will take a while with a wall charger. You might want to charge them in the charger that came with the batteries the first time, then use the wall charger to peak them on the weekends.
