I've been eyeing the mini/micro drift scene for a long time. Finally took the plunge, and this thing is SO well designed and machined. Can't wait to get it slidin' but part of me just enjoys looking at it.

🤣🤣🤣 just messin,' it ain't worth squat if you don't get to enjoy it. Looks killer, looking forward to hearing how it handles.

I’ll give you guys a hint, it will be a period correct 90s car that I’ve always drooled over. And they never had the best reputation for reliability.
Where are you going to find a 1/28 Ford Festiva body?

American, Japanese, or other?
1/10 scale, 1/8 scale, or other?
nitro or electric?
on road or off road?
It's 1/24 scale as showing sitting in my hand above. JDM for sure.
DUDE!! I want a drift van now!! 🤩

Like the mystery machine or somethin…🤔
Now my mind is blown.
Best Gif Wow GIF
Yep, I've seen a couple vans, UPS vans, etc. With 1/24 to 1/28 being such a popular static model size, body choices are almost limitless.

So I got started on my body. I’ve owned two FC3s, but never an FD, but always drooled over them. I know some guys have had lots of luck with the Krylon all in one for hard body models (likely larger scale), but I just didn’t. So, I stripped it as best I could, and did what any reasonable person would do; I ordered an airbrush setup and the stuff to redo it right. More to come.

So, since my parts showed up, I got busy on the build. First off was removing the factory front end, and installing the moon walk setup. I’ll get some vid of how it works, but it’s pretty trick.

Moon Walk, no more dealing with tiny turnbuckles except for toe adjustment

Next up was mounting all the electronics

The TG Racing wheels are gorgeous, and nicely detailed for this scale

All done other than tidying up my wires

Got some slide time with it late last night, and holy crap it’s a night and day difference in the cheapo car that I had. Can’t wait to get some tuning time and get it really dialed in. Just gotta finish up my body and then I can get on to tuning.

I never would have guessed RX7, but they are badass little cars. A friend had one that was crazy fast.

That is going to be so cool. Kinda bummed you didn't grab that van body though 😜

That is killer! It's good to see you stoked about RC's again. 😍
Thanks, and yeah, it's been a fun year slowly getting back into it.
That looks like fun.
It is for sure, and I can stay inside and drift it up in the kitchen all winter, or in the summer when it's sweltering out. Gonna outline a track in the garage at some point also. LOL

Yeah, they are fun cars for sure. Basically an adult go kart. LOL, didn't think I was cool enough to pull off the van. I've seen pics of a guy that did a UPS van mini drift car. LOL
