He is asking if 2wd or awd is better?
For drift I would do 2wd, but that's just me. Everyone has different opinions. For offroad and road cars awd is generally better, but drift i would say rwd. Also everyone has different opinions. Question, does he happen to play any Forza horizon games? If so, he can tune a drift car on rwd and on awd and see what he likes better. Not ideal, but it's a kinda good way to see what he likes. Also by no means am I a drift expert 😝

Oh thats a good idea. To have him practice woth forza to see if he would even like it. I know he has a cheap off brand (walmart) drift car he sometimes plays with.

Hahaha! Is brushed or brushless better? He tried to register for the forum but he is getting an error message

Lol! Sarcasm is our 2nd language. On a phone, I was thinking to try on my lap top when we get home.

2WD is the way to go for drifting. AWD isn’t true drifting, it’s power sliding. Many tracks won’t allow AWD on them. May as well start 2WD and save yourself the headache of converting anything from AWD to 2wd as well has just saving money and time.

Definitely start RTR. Redcat has a solid drift setup that’s RTR. Only downfall is many people talk bad on them. Otherwise they are a very capable chassis. I’ve seen them do very good with my own eyes.
I second this. I am actually a big fan of Redcat stuff, even though it's not very popular in most places, but, they are cheap, easy to work on, and, a lot of the time, take a fair amount of abuse. As for 2WD vs 4WD drifting, just my opinion, but, just starting out, 2WD drifting takes a lot to get used to, and isn't always easy to do.
