Crawler Kits

So I just got back into RC after a loooong time. I found these crawler RC’s which are amazing buy the way. After watching videos and looking around I went with the Axial Capra. Don’t get me wrong it’s awesome but I enjoy the build. I saw element has a kit but I am not finding anything like the Capra in a kit. Am I missing something??? Here is my Capra that just came in!!!!!

I think you might see a few kits pop up here and there, but mostly RTR as @Greywolf74 stated. The nice thing about crawlers is that they are so customizable, that you can pretty much build a whole rig out of aftermarket parts.

I just got the Tbest chassis armor set, excited to get it on the trail. Waiting for my charger to come in to charge the batteries. Probably a stupid question but do the batteries come charged or do I need to charge them first? I just got the batteries but the charger is still enroute. I got the Dynamite Reaction2 11.1V 3700mAh. Quality batteries??

Batteries arrive with a storage charge, you will need to top them off. There are several good posts about proper care and maintenance of lipo batteries on the forum if you do a search.

We bashers do kits in the form of a plastics kit from our favorite RC chop shop and figure out what and where for the rest of the kit ourselves. The best part of doing it this way is there isn't a single part in the box you don't want. You also know your truck inside and out before you've turned your first screw.

They used to have killer kits for the Capra and Ryft. But Horizon Hobby, being morons, decided to do away with those kits. They were absolutely awesome kits too.

What I would do it rip it completely apart and put it back together. I promise you it will be worth it.

The Capra is a fun buggy for sure and it's surprisingly versatile. Think of it more as a blank canvas than a finished machine, and then tune away..!!
